Content sharing

Is it the mainstay of all UK porn now with the exception of the few to do shoots for exchange?

Back in my day, before the ATVOD wars people actually were paid a nominal sum by producers to shoot content

I wouldn't mind knowing so I can get shoots for free and no longer have to pay for it anymore.

I never thought I'd live to see the day one can get a free shag as long as you have a video camera.

These must be great days

Terry why would someone work for 4 hours and earn ?300 as a one off payment when they could do the same four hours work and earn a couple of hundred pounds a week off it every week for a few months?!

Essentially the likes of AW have provided a direct route between model and end user and means the model earns the cream of the income now

I totally get the self empowerment aspect

I wonder if you apply that thinking to a business model where you can lose all your earnings and have your account shut down at a whim and still think the same way about it

Its happened to a few I've heard

Any business has a risk Terry.

What about so called big time producers who bounce cheques or simply rubber ear performers when they chase up late payments? It happens from time to time with some of the big companies too

For the record most of the shoots that I have done I have paid the girl for her time. The content share shoots that I have done have been with girls at their request.

Having seen one girls credit report for movie views on adultwork I can see why she wanted content, she easily made more than 10 times what she would have been paid for the shoot. This obviously depends on the popularity of the girl and how proactive she is.

Content share was started by us over 10 years ago & if done right can be an earner for all involved, gone are days we once knew Terry & the industry has evolved into 1000's of model/producers who earn regular incomes from content share.

AW is now the main earner for UK models/producers...some may be lucky to still do well from their sites but its all going downhill with or without ATVOD.

What is the point of a model earning a one off payment when they can earn more from content share, we do all right because most producers treat the girls unfairly so more come to us in the long run.

We give people we work with edited HD films in MPEG4 & HD WMV, edited AW clips, pics in full size & smaller size, IPAD & ANDROID versions where as other lazy producers think the girls are doing well if they give them a DVD lol!

The people who do content share fairly will keep their head above water & people working with them will form large networks for various niche/hardcore/softcore shoots pushing out dated agencies & large companies.

We have seen the Satellite channels & other big companies enter this industry & mug off the girls/guys for years & as they have crashed & burned models have found a better safer way of earning their own money.

People moan about content share but no one has come up with a better idea to keep the unemployed models earning in lean times, no ones has given a logical reason why content share shouldn't be done either...

It may be some producers are losing their power over the models who can now choose for the time if its worth doing a shoot for money or work with friends & keep the material & continue to earn more...it don't take much working out why everyone does this now.

Has anyone been worse off by doing content share & if so who did you work with & what material did they give you ?

Oh look...Adult Works down again

Not having a pop at them I understand the faith a lot of people put in them but with all the attacks recently, closure of accounts, loss of earnings I wonder how reliable a business model it will be if these disruptions continue

Being the solely reliable one of its kind is not good either but I can under stand the defence of it if you are making bank. I just think its delusional to miss out on working for ?300 a day for a few hours than take 56 weeks to earn it and see that as the same result

Having said that I know that paid jobs are not exactly plenty on the ground these days either, but there are reasons for that too

I'm not too fussed if content share is the way forward but my issue with that is lack of exclusivity and saturation is what caused the rot to set in the first place.

Not that we'll ever go back to those days but i do feel the future is always in motion

56 weeks!? Oops. meant to say 5 to 6 weeks

Some will consistently do better than others. thats always the way but with everyone migrating over to Adult Work you cant tell me its not become a bit of an arabs bazaar of porn reminiscent of sex shops in Amsterdam packed tothe rafters with so much porn that no one ended up buying anything because they didnt know where to start LOL

With all the new people on there every day with videos is everyone saying it hasnt impacted on their income?

We have done two content shares in the past, although originally we preferred (and still do) to just pay for our content like the old days, we are warming to the idea of content share. However we shoot 3-5 times a month still offering paid work still anyway.

I think we have always prided ourselves over the last 10 years of paying the girls and that will never stop, since we started shooting for nerdervert.com, sales and things have improved with it being the US market. Plus they have a lot of content in advance for their update schedule so, we don't need to shoot as much if its not going to be released by them for maybe as long as a year.

It seems that professional people even above us have started doing content share too, so for that reason, we have considered doing it a lot more, but I think deep down we never wanted to be seen as cheap skates lol.

The very few that we have done was to help a model out, who needed content for there profiles online.

We don't advertise for content share, but will do it if asked or if we see models asking for someone, we will let them know we offer this as a professional service.

As said above by others in this thread this is how the industry is changing and AW and C4S is also a popular platform for selling your content, no matter how it is made. We have even added content share on our business cards too as something we offer. Plus I am technically a performer too, I'm totally in front of the camera now, for some reason model to model has better chances of shooting content than just producers asking, its still seen as cheap if a producer asks.

Since we are quite well known for having lots of plot and sex in the same scene, we have even gone to the trouble of creating there story/theme of the shoot for the models, as some don't have many ideas themselves, if they do we make it fit with the content we would need for our half of the day.

However the way we shoot it, the downside is, its all shot at the same time, so takes longer to shoot. Which means we can't give the footage over on the same day, or we would be giving away the whole thing.

How we do it is we both come out with separate videos, so no one is using the scene video scene for their separate outlets, as we have no interest in sharing the same exact video.

Its called content share as people know what it is, but no one shares any full video scenes that we shoot on the day, the only thing content share about it is, that we are giving up our free time to produce content, to be sold online.

However we do have the content for you in 2 weeks and edit it before our own stuff, as we don't need it as urgently.

So we film two different plots/build ups/ scenarios whatever you want to call them, and two different endings.

We then shoot the sex scene, shooting the changing of positions in different orders.....That way the only thing the same about each persons video is the set, the performers and the outfits people are wearing, everything else is edited differently and in a different order and it flows surprisingly well.

The reason who shoot the changing of the sexual positions in a different order is so it can be n a different order for each video, so E.G my video might start in doggy and change to spoons, he other persons might start in cowgirl and go into doggy, and you see that changing of it, instead of a cheap shitty fade, then suddenly they two people are in another position, I hate that.

We usually shoot the cumshot with to different cameras too, so we each get that too, with the option of dubbing over different sound for the money shot.

If one scene requires someone to be innocent for instance and the other mean and slutty, we shoot close ups and cut in shots of it, and intercut it in for the video that requires it.

It also means shooting two scenes only (but getting 4) so we have two scenes each, we are not shooting all day long till everyone is tired and someone isn't getting the shit end of the content at the end of the day, as it was all shot at the same time, its just takes longer to shoot as your shooting enough to get two scenes, including saying or acting lines out, of each others scenes in the middle of the performing.

So you get a scene with a plot, sexual positions in a different order and a different ending, and professionally edited.

So you can see why the footage is not handed over the same day, as we have planned and mapped out the shooting schedule for the day so it would be awfully confusing for someone to make sense of what bits are for who..

However we all know and have heard of the horror stories of people waiting months to get the content or not even getting it, or getting a really bad video as the person who sot it has kept the best parts for themselves. I think I have a good enough rep now to know that people know I will deliver the goods.

We edit it in HD ( incase of a VOD release at a later date), provide screen captions, provide a description, wmv's or whatever format in clips and full scene versions for rentals. It works well and both people we have done it with has been very happy with the results, and one of the girls has it on her adult work and wants to do more.

We also supply mode release form and ID on the disc we send out to you, ( or you can take a picture of it on the day, its up to you) . I hear a lot of people don't get the the ID of the person there have performed with in the content share, whether its paid work or not,if you are going to sell it for profit you should have the IDs and model release should you ver get asked to prove someones age in your content, nothing has changed there.

Have I sold you services yet?????? LOL

No seriously, I couldn't never just offer people content share shoots, even if e may increase the amount we could be doing depending on interest. We always need exclusive content for the US guys we shoot for, but I think it is a sign of times and along as its done fairly and correctly then it can be a good way to earn on your own content.

Models can sell directly to the fans, but then you can't beat getting that paid job either for those still offering such as ourselves. But now I take no shame in doing content share, like I once did.
