think i have found a scam

i have been applying to agencies recently and have got a call back from a company called amatuer playhouse they have offered me a large amount of money per shoot as well as free travel and accommodation if needed the catch is they want me to pay for a portfolio somewhere in the region of 250-300 quid

i was wondering if anyone else has had dealing with them and if people could tell me what their thoughts are on this matter thanks

It is what it is, a fee for a portfolio (I assume) of pictures, which , no matter how good you look indicates nothing of your ability to perform

If pictures are your thing then I can say you have narrowed your chances dramatically of getting work.

Just sounds like someone ensuring themself of paid work which wont do you much good. As for being a scam, probably. It is deceptive to guarantee high paid fees unless you are in demand and for that you got to show and prove first...Even then...

exactly I told them i wasnt interested in the end although the films they were mentioning sounded great and all to pay for on online portfolio really put me off
