Best places to find models?

I've been an amateur photographer for a few years and am just getting back into my hobby. I'm not convincing myself there is any money to be made in the adult industry. I'm not delusional. Some people burn ?80 a week on cigarettes, I'd prefer to burn the money on taking photos.

Anyway, I'm pretty certain that this might have been covered before, but am looking for some advice regarding finding and hiring talent from some of the more established producers.

I'm registered with the likes of Purestorm, PurplePort, MM etc. And whilst there are many attractive, gir-next-door looking women, very few appear to work to solo adult levels. Even fewer are comfortable doing video.

I've checked out adultindustryresources - but many of the models simply do not fit the style I'm looking for.

So, qustion is, where / what else am I missing? There seems to be a real lack of studios in the Yorkshire area and the agencies are all geared towards fashion.

Any advice would be massively appreciated.

Thanks

Vince

Hi Vince

Purestorm works best for me when I need a girl to model with x

Studios in Yorkshire - there was one near Keighley called Yorkshire Studios that was quite good, lots of sets and lighting. It wasn't all prim and proper fashion style because I think the owner used to do spanking scenes there so maybe try that one?

If not there then there are some great studios near me in Derby/Notts

Back in the day when I was driivng around and saw a girl I thought was attractive I would simply just ask her

I was usually met with a look of shock then "really???" then "ok I'll think about it. Give me your number"

I know a certian porn star who used to literally hang out in shopping malls handing out business cards to all the pretty girls and would occasionally get lucky

In short, a more direct open approach yields good results.

Agencies and websites are too full of weirdos these days. i get beeter results with the personal touch

I mainly shoot couples these days and a few of them wanted to meet me for a drink and chat prior to agreeing to do a shoot.

Sometimes i'd get "my boyfriend wouldnt like that"

I'd say ask him if he wants to do a shoot with you. If you dont ask you will never know and if you ofend someones sensibilities then just apologise but most poeple find it funny youve even asked them

Beats being sold the usual stuff

Thanks Sally - I will check out the studio in Keighley !thumbsup!

One Eyed Jack - I like your style. Perhaps the personal touch is the way forward. At the moment I seem to be attracting people whose geography is piss poor. "Hi I'm near to Leeds if you contribute to travel from Swansea... " or people who have rediculous rate expectations e.g. ?100+ an hour for nude "but not for publication".

Looks like I will have to get some cards printed (moo.com seem to have a few good offers) and will have to practice my sales patter.

I can see it now - "Photographer arrested after hanging around shopping centres and universities all day..." heheh.

!thanks!

My interests are similar to yours.

If you are using PS, PP etc. you will find most of the active prospective models in your area. Certainly on PS some will not state their highest work levels to minimise the risk of having their profile deleted.
However by seeing if they are on AIR and finding any DVD's or websites that feature them you will soon find the highest level they work to.

My experience is also that finding models who will work up to toys or even wide open leg on video is not getting easier. I think it is a combination of the general decline in the amount of work available so some have moved on and the opportunity to work from home without planning or having to travel doing webcam on AW etc.

If you are happy to work in a studio that is an advantage as the models know they are in a safe location with staff around.
I hate to say this but the risk you have is being let down last minute by the model but still having to pay the studio.

In answer to your question ' where / what else am I missing? ' fundamentally nothing.

There are more acres in Yorkshire than there are words in the Bible...
