Movies not working on adultwork

Does anyone know why you have a perfectly running wmv format video on your computer, however once it has ben uploaded onto adultwork it no longer works on there? It's not a rental movie, just a normal one. 640 x 480 in wmv as required.
Can uploading via FTP somehow corrupt the files?
And or can converting from .mov to .wmv somehow be a factor?
