A friend of mine is making a low budget movie next year, towards the end of January.

There are a few scenes set in a gentlemans club and they require strippers for the scenes, and maybe a couple of topless waitresses. There are a couple of scenes where the main characters of the film are at the club and whilst they are talking there are girls performing in the background. There are a couple of scenes where the main characters have private dances in a VIP area.

They have asked me to post on this forum because they require the strippers to strip completely (full nudity) so they require girls who are comfortable being naked. The scenes will include about 10-12 extra's to give realism. They are not looking for classically trained dancers, just someone who can move and make it look realistic and sexy, whilst taking their clothes off.

The film is being shot in a bar in Derby. It will most probably be during the daytime.

The production team would like to know if there are any girls on this forum who would be interested in starring in their film, and what rates they would expect.

It is low budget, however there is a small budget for these scenes. They are looking for rates per scene rather than per hour.

If there are any girls out there who are interested, preferably from Derby or the East Midlands, you can contact me and I'll pass your details on or I can get more information if you require it.

There will be a guaranteed IMDb credit for anyone involved in the film.

Derby!? Low budget, alright!

Oh lordie yet another Brit gangster film by the sounds of it.

Actually, it isn't yet another Brit gangster film! If you had have taken the time to look at the Facebook page and the synopsis you would have seen that it is about a corrupt lawyer who is living a double life. He puts on the facade of a family man but actually he's is a bastard, spending money her earns from drug distribution on escorts, drugs and booze, whilst his wife and kids are at home.

At least the film does have a story, and the stripping scenes are in context with the story, not like some of the stuff produced by the UK porn industry.

Why is it that when you mention low budget, people jump to the same conclusion that all low budget film makers can only make crap about gangsters!

Am glad its not another british gangster movie. I saw a film called St Georges Day recently and it was possibly the worst film of the last 10 years - even the obligatory strippers scene looked terrible. (like shot on someones camcorder)

Nothing wrong with low budget films... but I hope that doesnt mean people have to work for free...

And the subject matter sounds like Ridley Scott's next movie The Counsellor.

Amber - my advice, is to set yourself a rate... Equity Rates for feature films are ?360 a day + 50% buyout. So set yourself a number your budget can afford and stick to it.

Make sure everyone is paid equally. Nothing worse than the mutiny that follows when people find out some are getting more than others.

If you can afford ?50 a day - then do it. Although ?100 a day for a stripper sounds about right for the kind of low budget I think you are describing. But you need to be nice to your potential actors - as THEY are doing YOU the favour

Thank you so much for your sensible and mature reply.

I am not the actual person making the film, it is a friend of mine who asked me to post on their behalf. I do know what you mean about other low budget shoots and, although I haven't seen 'St Georges Day' but from what you are describing I can imaging what the production value is like. The production company making '10 Grams' are a professional company with over 10 years of film making experience.

The company NEVER make a film unless they have money to pay actors and crew, even if it is like you said ?50 per day, because they know that if you do not pay you do not get the results.
