Are there any similar forums and/or databases like BGAFD for people interested in hardcore movies across the waters - is there a US version of BGAFD for example, or a Europeans one (or Asian)??

I rather like that, the iafd being a 'version' of bgafd !
It should be retitled 'International, By Which We Really Mean American, And The Euros Only Get In Where They've Done Loads Of US Stuff, And We Got Their IDs Wrong/Mxed-up Anyway, And We've Totally Ignored The Rest Of The World, Adult Film Database'.

it would take approx 4 and a half years to view all the 40,913 titles that are listed on iafd, anyway the question was about a forum and that would be on usenet the rame group (rec.arts.movies.erotica)
get it on google

now if they did include every porn film ever made I wonder how many that would be...

Yeah, well this does come from a country which has a 'World Series' in baseball - only they neglect to invite the rest of the world, don't they.

iafd is more or less the achievement of two individuals - one american, one dutch - who have invested thousands upon thousands of hours of unpaid labour into producing an astonishingly wide-ranging site, which is without peer, imo.

credit where credit is due, surely?

I would question 'unpaid', they link to many shops which I suspect are giving them referer fees like 'your choice'...

yes but given the inherent costs of running a site comparable to this one, it's a fair bet that they don't make much in the way of excess profits, if anything at all. and without those referrer sites, iafd simply wouldn't exist.

.....only because they wouldn't come, as no-one else plays (apart from the Japanese, who I believe are quite keen).

A bit of tongue-in-cheekness, and the knives are out, eh?
Do a search here for previous recognition by me of Peter van Arle's achievements. Doesn't invalidate my criticisms, though......
