Good evening lovely people,
I am here to ask if any of you knowledgeable people may be able to assist and recommend to a good friend of mine a, preferably free, Video Standards Converter?

She is looking to convert a couple of HD (1440x1080) AVCHD files to wide screen (16:9) SD (or possibly HD) WMV files.

I use AVS Video Converter - not sure about that exact conversion, but does a lot.

if you have dropbox or any large file sharing resource feel free to pass on as it wont take long ! are you wanting 1080 or compressed ?

I'm the same as Paul and use AVS, it seems to do most things.
