You dont need a model release in the UK. The only reason we are legally obliged to do it is to be 2257 compliant for the websites where the US is involved.

Obviously, anyone who is businessminded to a degree will see the benefits of just having them anyway

Model releases only use in the UK is if you got into dispute then its a legal form of consent and if necessary, proof of age if it were to go to court.

In other words, whoever had the footage of Tulisa doesnt need a release. If the footage is played in a courtroom you can see she wasnt coerced but if her age was brought into question ie shes 17 then I would say there was a huge problem for the seller and owner of that footage. Even if they are both 17 doing it and filming it, they could be convicted as peadophiles (I got that from the AITA meeting with Myles Jackman)

If Tulisa claims to be 17 in that video, without a model release and id authorised by her how does one prove she was of age?

IANAL, but doesn't the law make the age of the subject irrelevant for the purposes of the act ?
