I always use Class 10 cards in my Sony EX1 to allow for the large data transfer requirements.

Hi

The lower the class, the lower the speed of writing. If you are wanting to shoot video, class 10 is the best because it writes quicker. Some cards don't have the class written on them but they have their speed written on them. If you're looking for an SD card for shooting video you want 30mbps (a 20 would be adequate but 30 would be better). That is the only reason they have classes.

If you're just using them for photographs then 2 or 4 would be ok.

Hope this helps

Even if you're shooting stills you need class 4 or better still 6. This is because of the speed at which the camera is able to download to the card, what can be large files, in a short time.
It's not unusual for a camera to stop working when it's buffer memory is full. As the SD card can't accept the data the camera is sending to it quickly enough, so the buffer fills up. The camera will work again once it has cleared at least part of it's buffer memory.
Hope this helps.

Thats true about fast cards in digital cameras, John shoots his photos in RAW so the card as to be quick otherwise your waiting 20-30 seconds to take the next pic.
