Legal notes for anyone with their own content

Hi,

I've been talking with ATVOD and BBFC and put a few notes together.

If you are pretending this isn't happening, or think it all depends where your server is, wake up or be a test case.

BTW, both orgs are happy to talk to anyone with questions and simply want to help you comply.

I've had a couple of chats with the ATVOD guy.
He mentioned in passing that he's had some emails from people in the adult industry shopping their enemies !laugh! Who'd have thought it?!

He said the same to me.

"Annonymous tips" he called them.

AIR isn't a VOD site and Tittivation isn't live yet. Tittivation will be a member of ATVOD once we are ready to go, and ditto an Aggregator member of BBFC.online.

I posted it because I have met people who think that running their biz via a US company, or having offshore servers, somehow let's them avoid the rules. So forgive me for getting off my arse and being helpful.

What did you expect? But what makes them look even lower is that that ATVOD are a bunch of people who worked at the BBFC so they know where to find everyone.

I've had face time with them in their offices and surprised that people who shop me don't know that I am known to them very well

Snitching is so very unnecessary but it makes the jealous and disenfranchised feel better about themselves so it serves a purpose at least !happy!

It also serves to prove how petty some people are when they have to go out of their way to do that but dont get involved in making changes that couldve avoided things like this in the first place.

Lets face it, a lot of the things people criticise that affects your lives in this business or any other was allowed to flourish because it was left unopposed.

This started with the R18 online but I doubt anyone could see what was going on from there. Tbh nor did I buit I knew something was coming and here it is

But if the service is NOT a member of ATVOD - e.g. because it isn't UK based so doesn't have to be - then you need to be in ATVOD yourself.

So how does that work Paul? This one is new to me.

So a producer shoots content for a site owned by another overseas the person shooting it has to be a member of ATVOD?

Therefore this means that anyone who has a video camera now has to be a member of ATVOD because they shoot content that is going anywhere from YouTube to private wedding videos.

This opens the interpretation to a far wider degree.

Why not just say everyone who lives in the UK with a video camera must apply

I think its best to listen to the podcast with Pete Johnson who attended the AITA meeting to discuss this as it explains a lot of things that seem to be muddied by different versions going around at the moment.

The adult indsutry should be pulling together on this not snitching on each other.

Are you sure they are not just saying this to cause problems between adult companies?

Exactly my thoughts Michelle.

Together we stand. Divided we fall, but it seems there are those who are so bitter and twisted they cant see this

Anyway, if its true, who is to say its anyone in the business anyway. It could be anyone and then...No one at all

Pete Johnson even joked that Jerry should be a law abiding citizen and grass on the podcast !laugh!

Fact is, no one needs to grass anyone. They can find you as easy as the customers you want to find your website so keeping a low profile is not going to do anyone any good
