Hi to everyone here, I just needed some help & advice, I'm a new producer and I intended to produce some soft fetish related material, i.e. tickling, balloon fetish etc., I advertised online looking for female models, clearing stating that I was asking for talent aged 18 or over for casting interviews. When a person answers the ad I make sure the second question I ask is how old are you and I ask for them to bring 2 photo ID's for a quick interview.

Which is why I was shocked when I had a phonecall claiming to be someone from the police, saying that someone made a complaint against me that I asked a 16 year old girl to take nude pictures, (which is absolutely NOT true) and asking the address of my office. I didn't know if it was a wind up at the time as the person was calling from blocked number.

I'm wondering if anyone here has been in a similar situation, or have a made any mistakes. I'm just so angry and shocked right now.

You should NEVER give any personal information out over the phone unless you know for sure who is on the other end of the line.

The police would not call you from a blocked number for one thing.

If you get another call like this, ask for the name and rank of the person you're speaking to. If they refuse, they are clearly not police. If they give you a name, ask which station they're based at. If they give you a location, you can check if it was a genuine call. If it's not, you can report your caller as an abusive phone call to them when you check up.

The police would DEFINITELY call you from a withheld number. All outgoing numbers from police stations are withheld by default or do you think "999" would appear on caller display?

Agreed - they would visit and NOT call from a blocked number.

I told the lady, I wouldn't give her any details unless she proved to me she was a police officer. She just said she's going to "track me down" and hung up. So I just have to wait and see what happens.

No, they wouldn't call from a blocked number at all. The police call you from the local nick, 999 is a national switchboard and nothing to do with local emergency services, they just route the call.

I had a few calls recently from the police after being caught up in an assault.
