Where to Start

I have done a bit of Amateur DIY sort of shoots however now when I try to book models they request BGAFD references which I do not have, my argument is that if I dont get to work with you how can I ever get any references.
My requests for assistance is as follows:
1- Is there someone who can work with a relative Newbie or if not how does one start getting references.
I hope my senior and more professional colleagues on BGAFD would shed some light on my above dilemma and help me move into the next level.
Thanks
AL

There must be a lot of let downs for girls to be asking for references from the BGAFD community
I would suggest you book a girl from an agency if you cant get references. I dont think people should really solicit girls directly as the smarter more experienced ones know that nearly all people who do this will let them down.
Donrt forget they also get requests for marriage and trips to far away lands with all expenses paid al the time.
Try and see it from their point and you will see why a lot of them are cautious to just accept jobs from someone they have no reference from

Try to book a few models through a recognised studio.
As you do not have refrences the studio will provide a venue where the model will feel safe.
Do this a number of times with different models and if you are above board with them they will start to give you refrences.
Or join other sites like AIR and follow the advice and rules that they give.
http://www.adultindustryresources.com/d ... sproducers
is AIR's advice for photographers page and the guy who runs it is on here alot and always gives really useful tips etc.
Once you have a few models working with you they will give good refs and others will behappy to do so.

This. ^^
Be honest, treat the girls properly, pay your way. References will come then.

Hi,
I was just going to say that trying booking a model through a local studio this way both the model and studio owner can give you refs.
Where are you based?

I am based in London and can travel if there is a good opportunity I am completely amateur and want to build my amateur credentials. My fear is that the costs of hiring models through agencies would be out of the roof ! Something that I might not be able to afford as I am financing this venture on my own.

I fully agree can you recommend some good agencies providing competitive rates?

Any recommended studio or agency which provide good competitive rates. Not willing to pay an arm and a leg for models.

Agreed however being able to afford it and taking a new comer for a ride to extreme ends of the spectrum, there has to be a middle ground. I am willing to pay but not willing to pay uber extra amounts for being new.... thats my argument.
