Has anyone bought any DVD's from American sites like www.adultdvdnow.com or do you think it's not worth the hassle with customs getting their greasy paws on them.

Do you buy the DvD's from vidshop.com or yourchoice or sexshops?

Can you let me know as they seem to have some good bargains on the american sites.

Cheers

Andy

if the material concerned conforms with current r18 guidelines, customs will let it through every time. check the r18 faq in the miscellany section for additional info and search the forum for past threads on this topic.

from a survival-of-the-site perspective, we'd encourage you to buy dvd's by clicking the yourchoice link, on the left. they sponsor bgafd by giving us a credit for every order made in this way.

Have purchased DVD's from American sites in the past, Adult DVD Now being the only one ever used.
They were very reliable, and took no longer than 7 days to arrive, but that was with an overseas mail charge. They do work out cheaper, depending on how many you buy. Also the selection is far greater, obviously.

Packaging was flat packed business type (A4 size), DVD in a sleeve with boxcover opened flat. Cases are not supplied, but these can be purchased in bulk, cheaply elsewhere.

Must have used these half a dozen times at least. Never had any customs interference, possibly due to the packaging design looking like mere business documents.

For anything decent and British I use Your Choice, excellent service. (One Eyed Jack, Viewers Wives, Ben Dover etc.) - Don't use Vidshop anymore, speed was poor couple of years ago, but might be better now. Also use Nookey's, quick and cheap!

Hope all this helps!

I managed to purchase several ALScan DVDs from the states (via the web). No problems with customs that I know of despite the fact they are far stronger than R18 - plain packaging helps.

No problems with adultdvdnow - quick and reliable. Also used adultdvdboxoffice.com which takes a bit longer, expecially if dvds are out of stock, but shipping is free. Andy wrote:

yes andy if you fancy anything video wise from the states, now is not a bad time to buy, what with the downturn in video sales, and all the competition that brings, and the strongish pound, you will basically find it is cheaper to buy from the states than europe, or the uk, and you basically will find that what is passed in the usa will find its ways through our custom system, in fact I have never heard anybody complaining about having something confiscated from a USA sale, although I am open to correction.
