Each Adult film star would be issued with an membership card. The card would contain a recent passport style photo and membership number along with at least one of the following; Height, eye colour or DOB. These cards would be the plastic type, with the photo and appropriate data embedded into it
To comply with the 1998 Data Protection act
http://www.opsi.gov.uk/acts/acts1998/uk ... 3#pt2-l1g7
Neither the card nor database will contain the performer?s name, address or any other personal information other than that above.
Membership Cards would only be issued upon confirmation of two forms of ID. This can be done either by post (via recorded delivery) or in person by any of the participating private clinics. The performer will also be required to sign and date a waiver stating that they are prepared to have their results published online.
When a performer comes for their screening/tests at any clinic, they will continue to show their two forms of ID as well as their Membership ID card.
Once the clinic receives the performers test results the appropriate information would be uploaded to a secure server. I would estimate this would take approx 1 ? 2 minutes.
Only members of the scheme with a valid account (clinic staff, film producers and performers) will be able to log into the system and enter performers ID. If valid, the system will display the following:
* Photo of the performer (which should be the same as on the card)
* Where and when the last tests were undertaken (name of clinic and time, date)
* The tests performed (non medical terms)
* Results of the tests
* Who uploaded the data.
This would decrease the time taken for ?certs? to be available in hard copy via the post, make it almost impossible for either the performer or Royal Mail to loose the certificate and virtually impossible to alter/fake the certificate once it had been issued by the clinic or hospital and the data had been posted to the secure database.
So the certificate would be produced by the same clinic that produces the paper version. Except it would be an encrypted version that you will be required to log in to view. Only clinics can upload / alter information as to the 'Digital Cert'
Most of the major private clinics including Clinic Express and Regents Park are signed up. We are currently talking to over 60 Primary Care Trusts sexual health departments within he NHS. As you can imagine this is a very tall order however more that two thirds will eventually signup to the system and publish their results to the database aswell.
Initially the system will be free for three months, after that, there will be a small annual charge for each performer (There will be no charge for film producers) that wishes to continue to have there certs published online as they area available from NHS or Private Clinics.
