I recently read with disgust a post in another section here and I hope that the admin will allow me to post a link to it here.
The reason for my post is that the original poster insists this was a question to performers but it was placed in a section where the fewest performers seem to go.

The thread - and please do read all the replies too - is disgusting, not because I have anything against either pornstars or anyone else in the adult/sex industry but because the whole thing seems to be mainly men talking shit about women they use for sexual purposes.

There needs to be some female opinions here because you are being called "common whores" by a man who makes money out of your work and there's nobody really challenging him.

argh it makes me so angry. If I were to post what im actually thinking about that guy, and alot of the people who posted replies, im sure I would be kicked off the boards.

As producers we see little difference between porn shoots and prostitution.

Producers and pornstars who think they aren't providing sexual service for money should join the Conservative party.

I think in the UK there is still a stigma attached to prostitution which is quite unhealthy. If a pornstar doesn't want to be compared to a prostitute he/she should try another non-sexual service related career path.

I've also noticed it's always the Adult Film Industry that looks down on prostitution. It's never the other way round.

Im not looking down on prostitution, I am just stating there IS a difference between prostitutes and models/performers.

Firstly for me at least porn star was a calling (tis also my job). And im affraid benson there is a difference between being a whore and a porn star at least if we are taking the word whore to mean prostitute. A porn star works to make films on set with other performers (mostly) and as well as having sex she also has to be aware of angles etc. Where as a prostitute just has sex for money. I have no problem with either job, as Lara said professional prostitutes earn alot more than porn stars do and I met some lovely girls who are professional prostitues when I first started working and really their job is in many ways is better than mine, but I chose to do this instead because I saw a difference that made the drop in pay worth it. I am a porn star because I enjoy film, I like the process of making films and thats the big difference for me that woudl make being a prostitute a bit dull.
