Twitter is hugely popular over here too.

If you use it wisely it can work wonders for promotion BUT only if you use it as a true communication tool and not just as a means to post link after link (like some do, with little or no return). It's great for building up a rapport with fans and for promoting (non-obtrusively) special offers, special videos / galleries etc.

I use it in my non-porn job as a marketing manager and I probably put out about 50 Tweets a day on average... a mixture of interesting links, retweets and general chat, with the odd link to a company special offer.

It's great for sales and viral promotion.

If you're not using one already I suggest you get a decent desktop Twitter tool like:

Twitter without a decent desktop tool is like using Facebook with your eyes closed

I'm using Twhirl and Flock at the moment.

Hell the local council is on twitter and i think its the more modern way of finding out the news as it happens without having to read a newspaper.

You can get all the info from where you want it as it happens and yes you'd be surprised who is really interested in you and what you do and have networked with a lot of people who heard about me but never knew how to get in touch.

I even hear the news on the radio and tv citing news from twitter.
