OT "New" Threads

The other day a poster remarked that all threads were marked "new" even after he had read them. I have the opposite problem ie new threads are not marked new unless they are posted while I am actually on the forum. This never happened when I was using a Bush Internet box through my tv but it does now that I am using a laptop.
I have tried altering my cookies settings but it makes no difference.

Magoo
click on "mark all read" then in the left colum click on forum again, also hold down ctrl and click refresh, this might help.
If not go out and get pissed, this will help.
Liz.

Yay, Lizard, it works!!!!!
I posted a q. about the prob. on the Phorum Support board and some clever git told me to read the thread. I had done and it was suggesting that it was caused by security measures like anti-virus or firewall software blocking cookies. It's a no-no solution to remove security so thanks for your suggestion.

One possible cause of 'new' remaining against posts you've read is that you haven't allowed the whole page to download before clicking on another message.

That's not the cause - I've tried waiting. Yes, you've guessed it, the problem's back.
