When travelling between Manchester and London for work i always look up The Trainline (Online) as they always seem competively priced and you can get any Train arrival and departure times , aswell as price ... !happy!x

Travel seems fare. You should never need to pay for a model release.

I always cover travel expenses. I always talk with the model before hand while arranging a shoot to find out what travel costs would be and I always ask for a receipt be it for train or petrol costs. Re model releases, I've never knowingly paid for one and I've never had a model tell me a model release was extra.

The travel cost seem reasonable - and as for the model release, it all depends on how professional you and the model are.
If the material you're shooting is for commercial use - then either include it in the rate you have offered, but point this out. Or if its not unreasonable - just pay it! Many more established models do like to have the model release as a separate item, most girls work for amateurs and pros and at times it gets rather hard to tell one from another so a separate model release gives you a bit of extra cover if in a few years time she decides she doesn't like having her picture all over the net!

You'll normally find you get what you pay for, what's better a happy model or one that thinks your a skin flint, I even find a bit of refreshment can work wonders , and I don't mean a ham sandwich and a cold cup of tea!

I normally double check any train fare using

for the actual trains to be sure of no embarrassing nasty surprises since ever more restrictions on so-called off-peak times.

If the model is driving I would suggest 20 - 25p/mile each way.

My shoots are for personal use other than any agreement up-front with the model to send her photographs and/or video.
However I have always assumed for work that will be published a model will either quote a significantly higher rate to include model release or charge for it on top of the agreed rate.
