Hi guys,
Sorry to repost but cant find the original post.
I asked some three weeks ago about finding away in to the industery, and much very comprehensive advice came my way, from which I am very greatful.
However at that time I had a female friend who was more than happy to do afew shoots with me etc to keep the costs of building a folio down, but sadly she has now opted to pull out! Woohoo cheers babe!!! Throught she was the better choice as she did some modeling while we were at uni in manchester.
So could anybody offer me a little more advice here as that would be great. I live in manchester and most of what came forward was based from people in the south, is there anybody central or northern based? I will be traveling to london from late summer onwards as my post grad starts august.
Im 26yo white mele, 6'1" slim healthy build etc anymore info wanted please just let me know.

I know this isn't what you want to hear, but most male performers are a different breed from yourself. They can't delay gratification for very long, probably take recreational drugs, and certainly lack the disipline to succeed academically. Don't stoop to their level. If you want to be in porn, fine, but work out a strategy for being the master, not the slave, and you'll have the girls begging you for work.

Bicycle bum,
what are your qualifications to make such a sweeping statement about male performers?
Do you know every male performer personally to justify it?
Or are you just making it up as you go along and hoping that it makes you look cool?

Hi
I know a few male performers!!!
It is so wrong for Bike Bum to say that.

Bicycle Bum,
Like James not Bond, I'd be very interested to know what your qualifications are for making such sweeping generalisations about male performers.
You also seem to have a somewhat derisory attitude to female performers when you say " work out a strategy for being the master, not the slave, and you'll have the girls begging you for work".

I certainly don't have issues with women, but as for the porn industry, it is a bit of a cattle market. Much better to have more control than the average perfomer has, and I respect any girl in this industry, who decides to run her own porn business, where she can decide to perform or not.

James, you clearly showed some derision posting that spoof thread about guys wanting a start in porn. If that was you, your derision was justified. Equally, I deride established male perfomers who post on forums looking for work, for their posts aren't different in principle from those by newbies looking for a break.

Biycle bum,
I haven't come across anybody in the business who doesn't choose whether to perform or not. Your ill informed remarks regarding performers, smacks of someone who forms his views from media stereotypes eg all performers lack real choices and work in the industry as they have few options and the womem are victims. There are victims in all areas of life and since working in porn, I have come across extremely empowered people who enjoy what they do and could and do work in other industries if and when they choose to.
You haven't answered my question so I'll repeat - what are your qualifications for making such sweeping generalisations about male performers?
