Content is obviously down to the individual studio and must, by its very nature, be variable, but the mechanism works well and you only pay for what you want.

clips4sale has some new features to help sales, like featured clips and clips previews. I suppose the 10 second clips wouldn't be appropriate with your 2-3min clips.

As this is a promotions forum, i guess the question is......is it a good vehicle to sell content?......ie i....Is this site a good money earner?

Your own personal experiences if you are a producer and have a store on clips4sale would be much appreciated.

For me I give members first exclusive content of my material on my own website hosted on my own server. I upload older material onto my clips4sale store and this tops up the monthly revenue I receive nicely. I know some people that rely soley on sales from Clips4sale stores and do ok from it. Personally I think the commission taken is very steep and resent handing over 40% of all sales to its owner. I refused to use it for a while, but at the end of the day I still make money out of it and it is a good vehicle for advertising my main websites to a wider audience.
You also get pratts who purchase half a dozen clips or so for about $100 or something daft like that, when they could have joined my members site for $29.95 and got all those clips plus much more!

Never had a problem with late payments and support is always there if you need it.

C4S is an extremely good business model and suits people that want to purchase exactly the movie that suits their tastes. The key to success is regular updates not just putting up a few clips and hoping though. The customer is king too (Not pratts) BTW anyone who buys your product deserves respect IMO !!

Indeed paying customers do deserve respect and usually receive it from me.
I use the term pratts light heartedly, but I do find it hard to comprehend why some customers pay way over the odds. I advertise the fact quite clearly that a subscription to my site is much better value for money. If they want to rip themselves off and line my pocket in the proccess then that's fine by me. A king they are!

The 40% they take represents good value for money for site owners and individual clip producers. When you consider they provide the store owner with the HD space (unlimited), easy to use CP with good stats and auto updating months in advance, unlimited bandwidth, site promotion and they allow you to upsell your other sites. Pretty good deal really when you compare this to say 50/50 affiliate markerting or even 60/40 split which some affilliates are demanding with the state of the dollar.

With the latest updates as mentioned of samplers it is a win win system if you get it right.
