At a guess I would say the porn cameraman would the best to ask a question about small dv cams. So which is the best on the market? I have used the sony A1 with great results I have now a sony cx6 avchd format and find the results very poor.
So what is best dv format tape hardrive or avchd?
Which camera comes out on top?
Any help would be appreciated.

A ? for the Cameraman
Re: A ? for the Cameraman
Hi Dave
In my opinion AVCHD is the best. I use 2 Panasonic HDC-SD1 (the newest model is, I think, HDC-SD9) They are about ?600 and they are 3 chip as well.
My footage is all captured on SD card but you can get the same cameras with internal hard drives. They are much better than tape camcorders or disc camcorders because there are no moving parts. The amount of problems I had with tape heads being dirty in the past was really annoying.
It is totally digital film making, the only problem with AVCHD is there is limited software to edit the footage. I use Edius Pro 4 which is able to edit AVCHD files.
Cheers
James

Thanks for the reply. I find the Avchd format poor due to the compression change while importing in the mac. Avchd files play off the memory card in my TV with great quality however once compressed using Final cut express the video is of poor quality. However I note you say avchd is the best could you please post some samples of video so as I can see how good it works in using Edius.
