I recently watched Private Casting # 16, the first vid in this series I have seen. (I didn't even intend to buy it, I was conned by a dodgy video shop, details of which I will post when I've checked the address, but that's another story.)

The vid was so-so until the last scene, when the director Pierre Woodman (chubby hairy bald French guy - yuk) shagged a very beautiful, shy, innocent-seeming Russian girl. After a bit of pussy he penetrated her supposedly virgin arsehole, which looked and sounded genuine, and then he built up speed to a really savage, brutally hard anal pounding. From reviews I've just checked at IAFD it seems this is his usual style.

But what struck me was that for the hard arsefucking part of the scene he shifted to positions where you couldn't see the penetration, and he might he been fucking her arse, her pussy, or thin air for that matter.

So does anyone know, are his scenes 100% genuine, or does he sometimes fake the extreme bits? If he fakes it, I have mixed feelings - on the one hand, if it's phony it isn't sexy, but on the other hand, I would be quite relieved for the sake of the girls!

He performs, just the two of them, in front of a fixed camera for these scenes which means that the angles are rather limited. I have 25 of them and they LOOK genuine.

When does porn conflict with personal ethics?

I have long been intrigued at the fascination and apparent love of anal in the world of porn, where this enjoyment of anal comes from and what motivates it. I am inclined to believe (in general) that guys like having anal sex more then girls like receiving it. Yet the majority of new videos produced boast "all anal" or "100% anal" etc etc. My question is why?

Given that most of us would agree that the pleasure the guy gets in these films is not the reason we watch it, why the focus on an act that I think if most of the starletts were given a free choice on (and a choice that would not effect their future career) they would not choose to do?

Now I have nothing against anal sex and I'm not likening it to the violent sex films above in any way other then films that girls appear in largely because they are films to appear in, and not because of the enjoyment they gain from it.

Personally, if I watch a film or scene where the girl in question is not enjoying herself, I fast forward it, because I have no desire to see someone being put through something degrading like being forced to participate in an act they are not enjoying.

However, the drive of porno towards ever extreme acts and it's relentless emphasis on anal sex, I find myself watcing and enjoying because the girl in the film is (faking?) a big smile. If I suspect for a second she's deep down hating it, I switch off, but I find I encourage myself to believe that the girl is having a good time. I am becoming concerned at this duality I have within me, on the one hand wanting the best for the performer and for her to be having a great time and on the other hand convincing myself that she must be having a good time cos I want to enjoy what I'm watching.

Now I know that it is unrealistic and dubious to expect products to come with some kind of "all performers had a great time" guarantee, however I'm very interested in hearing if anyone else has observed how they think and feel when they are watching the stuff, and have considered their motivations and agendas. I think it's pretty important to do it, and not become a "ah just shut up, lay back and enjoy it" kind of person because I believe why we watch it, what we enjoy when we watch it and why we enjoy that are crucial questions in understanding ourselves and revealing our thought processes and attitudes a bit when it comes to other people.

If something's made it to video, it's almost certain that nothing really terrible was going on, and there's nothing you can do about it anyway, as you've already bought the tape. If I suspect that a girl is putting up with, rather than enjoying, let's say a massive anal pounding, I don't find it sexy, but I do watch it. Partly because it's kind of interesting in a human interest kind of way - partly because if something happened, whether it's a good thing or a bad thing, I want to see it. I agree. Anal sex can be very sensual and erotic, but, and this is a criticism of American videos more than anything else, the girls are expected to make "sexy" noises during the act, whether it is anal or vaginal. Several years ago - well, not that long ago really - it was a rarity to see anal sex in porno. Now? well it is the other way around, seemingly.

I agree that these performances are just that very often - performances. And whilst I have doubts about the whole anal thing, I must say that I often enjoy these scenes. Who could not enjoy Rebekah in Ben Dover's "Back to the Crack". Was she enjoying it? Don't know, but she assumed we were and that's why I liked it.

I was with Pierre on Thursday I don't remmember him as fat and hairy although he has very short hair, Are you sure it is him in the movie he was a big director for private before moving over to Hustler..he started at Hot Video magazine wher I can assure you he long hair still that was 15 years ago. Maybe describing him as 'bald' was a bit unkind - the guy in the vid had short cropped hair with a big bald spot on top. He had a hairy chest and belly, and a stocky build. On the whole question of anal sex, I must admit I do like watching it, provided it isn't obviously painful. I think the attraction is partly the interest of seeing how the girl will react, especially if she isn't really used to it.
