hi ya all.
im back in moany mode im afraid.
i just wanted to get some views here of what people think of content sharing/swapping between models and photogrpahers.
im trying to sell some of my sandie caine content on a reselling site. im just trying to milk it for all its worth now im winding down my modeling career. its never made me much money anyway. my content was produced predominatly as content swaps with other models and photogrpahers - much like most models i should imagine.
unfortunatly ive discovered the reselling site already has alot of my content up from a certain well known photographer who i did alot of sharing with.
Ive asked them if they can suggest something but waiting to hear back.
The only fair result i can think of is that if they sell one of those sets in future the 60% the owner gets is split between me and the photogrpaher. they wont put the same sets up twice and why should i not make money from the sets if i part own them.
Over the years ive come to the conclusion that content swapping is dangerous grounds to work on and leaves alot of doors open to abuse so i dont do it anymore but this just seems to really prove the point.
If the site says no we cant include ur content shot on the share then im out of pocket.
Whats other people views?

as a photographer i've done photo sets for models websites on set swap basis (about 8 models to date - (lolly, victoria brown and t/woods and karlie simon-before bb contract etc) who obviously wanted me to shoot content for their sites. I guess like photographers needing a model if a model needs content with no one to shoot it they would have to pay a photographer to shoot it for them or go down the dodgy route where its a split 50-50 money from the site with a photographer who shoots everything and that usually ends in tears. for example, when i first started out i did a swap set for video with Lolly Badcock. No money or paper work was exchanged at all and i've to not put out the video, but i've seen some of the shots published in Parade mag... Not that i'm bothered.
Now if a model asked me it would be on set for set plus ID and model release so we both know the score etc...

Hi Sandy
Could you talk to the photographer & arrange something or if he is akward contact the site owners who most of the time favour the models over the photographers. Adultwork are good with me as they know i don't model for anyone else so when footage of me appears on the site they remove it unless the said models says its content share with me etc. As you are one of best known models in the industry use this to your advantage contact the site owners & see if they could come to some arrangement with your footage & pics even if the percentage is slighty different in their favour which always seems to work. What i explain to girls i do content share with is we both (me & said model) can do anything on any media format e.g. DVD's, internet, phone downloads etc to make our money. For girls (normal housewives) that don't & can't get a good comeback on their footage we make them up a site where they can sell DVD/Video's which we edit for them & tell them about sites such as Adultwork & Gumtree where they can boost their returns. Being friendly & fair with content share partners work's best & gets you trusted & respected so photographers/videographers please heed this when filming models.

Do you have the rights to sell it on?
What agreement was made at the time of shooting as to who could do what with their share?
Its a minefield best avoided, and one of the current reasons why this business is sinking fast. No-one pays for anything anymore.

No agreement, you probably don't have the right to sell on the images. Photographer owns copyright, can do what he wishes with it. Thats the problem with these 'friendly' agreements, someone usually ends up with a better deal than the other, then it turns from a 'share' to an 'exploit'.

Rather than share the set its better to do it on a set each basis that way the model gets an exclusive set and so does the photographer.

Hi Sandie
I did i paid shoot where i gave the model a copy of the shoot more fool me!!!. Where she's selling them ?100 a set on her site, without telling me that she was going to do that which was a bit naughty of the model.
