File formats and size

Hello all,
Wondered what format and file size you choose when downloading movies off the web.
If a site has multiple format options does that help a lot, WMV, MPEG2, DivX, Quicktime.....
I am shooting in 1080 HD and file size is an issue sticking to the full display size.
Does anyone use dial up anymore!?!
