How are you going to 'clamp down' on these performers? We've had the same problems so we can sympathise with you. Nearly 15 girls cancelling on us!!! Thats why we're off to Hungary on Monday.

If there's a solution then we'll consider it. Unfortunately i dont think there is.

Last month there was an outbreak of chlamydia on e week and 2 weeks later a gonorrhea. Bluebird even shut down for 2 weeks to try and sort the problem out!!

If these people 'whose names keep popping up' are direspecting their fellow workers by 'the things they get up to outside of work' then it's up to other performers to say no i 'm not going to work with you.

'Fun for all and all for fun'!

If you clamp down on performers who do "extra work", how many performers will there be?

Many a star / starlet has to make the maximum amount of money whilst they can and as a result they will do things they might never have thought they should have done.

Also. when it comes to testing, make sure the performers get both oral and "down below" tests.

The fact that a person has upto date certs never has been a 100% guarantee that you wont catch something but its still a lot safer than working with someone who has no certs, what goes around comes around but the fact that these people who have candelled because they have an STI at least proves their honesty and the ones that dont cancel even when they know they have something are the ones that are spreading it around !cool!

Hey there..
I've always got up2date certs..
But in the last 12 months I have been getting 2 certs from different clinics
That overlap each other..
Just to be sure
Even saying that I can not guarantee 100% that one test might miss something. Just like what graham said above..
I will always continue to get tested every month..
And hope that i will not catch anything...

Gemma,

Thank you for your reply.

I've heard reports from models that not all clinics do both tests (oral and private parts) so some things may go missing for weeks / months.

Also, a while ago there were reports of fake certs doing the round.

One way to prevent STI's would be to have a closed circuit of performers who never have sex outside of the film shoots and will happily take tests each week, preferably with a laboratory on site to do tests in the morning of a shoot.

Don't see that happening though as it would be financially crippling and I can't see lots of performers in relationship saying to the other half "sorry dear, not tonight - got a shoot next week".

I suppose its good that the models concerned are cancelling thier shoots and not doing the shoots by using thier last certs which would show as clear and probably have a few days left on them.

Following on from that statement, the models obviously have morals so can someone explain to me why models go to the trouble of getting certs for the modelling, and are then, i guess, having unprotected sex with others for fun ? Or have i got it totally wrong ?

As far as a solution goes. Has everyone forgotten about condoms ? With a bit of originalism and thinking surely a shoot can still go ahead, and perhaps with some interesting content as well, rather than the usual suck and fuck.

If the situation is as bad as a couple of posts have implied maybe it would be an idea to set up a list of perfomers with the title "Available for hardcore work with condoms". Obviously producers can then read between the lines.

Three problem areas.........

1) Pornstars making money on the side through escorting. The rise of girls who escort on the side has risen over the past 18 months, as has the frequency of chlamydia outbreaks. Their agent swears their girls only use condoms. I say they're lying and the facts show the reality.

2) Male talent suffer from working with these girls and also lose money......so what do they do? They print their own tests.

3) Producers who've paid for the location, make-up and models don't like losing money, so let performers work with dodgy tests. As long as they get their scene done, the outbreak is someone else's problem.

Problem number one has the knock-on affect and increases the likelihood of problems two and three. Stop booking girls that escort. Yes there'll be fewer girls to pick from, but vacuums always suck up new talent sooner or later, and you'll be respected more, and attracts a more professional performer.

Also kick guys off set that turn up with fucking printed tests off their PC. They're only faking the tests because they're getting away with it. Stop their money, and they'll think twice about getting up at 6am to travel 3 hours to a scene only to be sent home with no money.

You can't eradicate std's in an industry that's centred around unprotected sex, but you can at least lower percentages.

Lets be REALLY fucking honest here. 5 years ago in the UK, no performers needed tests. It was only the HIV outbreak in the US that changed that. There are more chlamydia & gonorrhoea outbreaks now than before we bothered with tests. Why? Because performers 5 years ago mainly lap danced for extra cash and didn't escort in the number they do now.

Of course I may be deluded, and have everything arsehole upwards. The only people who'll disagree with my post will be the ones scared of losing money.
