why are you finding it difficult ? hostings a dime a dozen...

Hallo ,
Whats so difficult about it.I assume its very easy.
Stop at a highstreet Newsagent and ask for a Linux Magazine or
Web Designer.I assume there are enough adverbs from Hosting companies
to hold you busy the next 10 years.Pick one what you are fancy.
Cheers
Francis

Running one's own server is a pain in the arse - it is an easier option to hire one that is serviced within a data centre, although if you want decent support, it can get costly.
What kind of content do you intend to put online? If you are video streaming, it is best to get a dedicated server, but if you are selling stuff, you could get away with cheaper, shared hosting.
