Lapdancers to pay VAT

You do get some great court cases!

It seems that when a girl steps down for a private dance, she needs to charge VAT.

Tomorrow, in VAT offices across the land, our trusted Civil Servants will start to plan their undercover operations, just to check that everyone is reporting their VAT....

I suggest you read my reply in the O/T forum to a similar post

http://bgafd.co.uk/forum/read.php?f=3&i=116462&t=116462

It's typical of people on this forum to comment on articles they have half read and completely misinterpreted, and on subjects they know nothing about, and then get on their high horse. !furious!

I was posting light hearted, but since you raise the issue -

If the girls have a VATable turnover (around ?1000pw would do it I think), they'll have to pay it, so either increase their rates, or swallow the cost.

Anyway, as you say, any girls should seek qualified advice.

OK - any accountants here, put your hands up :-)

Even if it WAS light-hearted, you couldn't even get the gist of the story right. It wasn't about lap dancers charging VAT but about Revenue & Customs trying to get VAT off the clubs for the money the dancers earned!

Why don't you learn how to make posts clickable but what's more typical is the way you reply to threads and try to put people down.

Comments like "why don't you learn to read" are typical of you.

Are you just rude or does it give you a sense of feeling a superior human being?

Either way you must have a very wide and high door frame in your house.........sorry mansion..........to get your head through.

Obviously you'll feel the need to reply and put me down and that will probably make your weekend.
