Newbie Question

Hello

This is probably a "how long is a piece of string" kinda question but I'm interested in peoples opinion on how much content I should prepare for a site before I launch it.

I'm only at the early planning stages so there's not much mre information I can give you, but I will be shooting all the content (photo and video) myself and it sits in a niche wich doesn't seem to be that well served - Mind you, maybe that's 'cos it doesn't sell ;-)

I was thinking about 30 or so videos (full length, not just clips) and a similar number of photo sets. So long as I have a reasonable update schedule - say 3 or more new video's per week and 3 or more new photo sets per week that should provide resonable value for money but maybe I'm waaay under the mark there?

Thanks

Andy

Hi,
If you are not going to be charging then you can start with as little as you want. Its only when its a pay to view site that you need more content. The models on my site are all available for work. You can see full size shots in the free members area and email addresses are in the gallery.

If you start with that many, and maybe add a full video each week, you should be OK, so long as you have a niche that people will pay for.

One video is also sustainable - 3 a week is a hell of a shooting and editing schedule if it's just you, and you'll burn your way through the models too fast as well.

And finally - check out my site for models, and if you need "an ordinary bloke" type male give me a shout :-)

Oh, and assume that it will take a lot longer than you would like to build an audience and make money. But if you are serving a niche, the upside should be loyalty.

The Edge Glamour Model Studio,
Also don't forget the cost. As Paul said 3 videos of models per week is a lot of work, but the cost would be...well...quite a lot, to say the least! You would be talking hundreds of pounds each week.

That's a good question, I was also wondering that.

What about models too, I assume some would not like to work with someone they perceive to be an amateur, but if you're trying to build up a content portfolio and don't yet have the site live, would they be unwilling to work with you?
