Costs Of Filming

Hi,

I'm a webmaster currently running three paysites. I have a fantastic idea for a fourth, though it's pretty unique so rather than buying in content from suppliers I'm considering hiring someone to shoot these for me.

I'm looking for opinions on costing this. For 10 sets consisting of 30 mins video and 300 pictures b/g hardcore.

I guess I could pay a East European producer and save cash, but I'd be worried about the quality and minunderstanding down to the language barrier.

Anyone have any opinions on this?

If each set is a different scene with different models...

Think in terms of 250-350 for the girl, plus travel, plus agency fee if using one. 150-250 for the guy, plus travel, plus agency fee.

So 500-700 plus location - call it 600-800.

10 of them.....

But if you can reuse models, and shoot a few scenes a day in one location, (e.g. if studio, 3 sets).

3 scenes with same two models on day rate - 500-600 for the girl, 350-450 for the guy, travel, location, call it a Grand, 330 per scene, so 10 at 3,300.

Plus the cameraman/editors profit.

Eastern Europe - if you go that route, you'd need to go out and supervise for reasons you mention. I have a good agency in Budapest if you want.

do you mean each set to be 30 mins +300 pics, or the 10 sets to total that amount?

Yes, each set to be that number, preferably with different girls.

Thanks for the breakdown Paul, much appreciated.

What kind of costs would I be looking at for the cameraman/stills photographer?

I've allowed 300 to get a good selection from. Would reducing the number bring the costs down much?

Okay, point taken on that, as long as I have around 100 usable pics at the end it will be enough.

Anyone have any idea how much the costs would be having this done abroad?

Any do's don'ts?

I'm actually surprised at the costs in the UK, it's less than I thought it would be.

Also if I decide to go down the road of having it done in the UK does anyone recommend someone that could take on and manage the project for me. My skills are in webmastering, I'm no director/agent/camerman etc.
