Just heard that the 'togs on Model Heaven forum are trying to get profiles only for well-established 'togs -so models can only use them, and they would have tp provide I.D. such as driving license etc and references. What about the amateur, inexperienced'tog?

Well this COULD be a pre-emtive 2257 by having the models ID and Photographers ID, would be a step towards 2257 compliance, it could also be come self rituous attempt as being Judge Dredd...
Dont like It ? Dont Use It! is my philosophy

Would you surrender your ID to someone who runs a website you didnt know ? (you may know this pafticulat person but most people dont know the people who run sites)
I dont even give real ID when i check into Hotels yet alone some guy / gal who runs a site.

M-H is under new ownership since earlier this year and the answer to your question is very simple and basic.. NOT A HOPE IN HELL ... LOL
This will also lead to them having to check the DPA laws before even trying to start this idea. It's not a good one, lets face it.. A more sensible idea about data bases, though not about photographers was recently discussed in the UK Producers forum..
I must also state that I am biassed against M-H anyway out of fairness, but if I saw this idea anywhere I'd still poo poo it.

DPA be a MAJOR player, having managed various databases for night clubs and being DPA Registers registrar for the club i was at, managing a members database that even included the times you arrived at the venue, what drinks you ordered, as well as feeback you ever gave, its pretty much a ball ache and costly maintaining it all, we had to log activity on the machine, who used it for when and when, what the info was used for, and what date, soooo many records you HAVE to keep and then sooo many that its suggested you keep, and then a handful that its good to keep to stay outta jail if it ever pops up

I'm sure the brains on M-H who came up with the DB idea didn't even think about the DPA. Hence my thoughts ... LOL

I am an Administraotor on Model Heaven and I would point out that this is only an idea for a Photogpraher's List on Model Heaven in much the same way as Models are listed. It would be a purely voluntary thing and it seems to be a popular idea with both models and 'togs.
This does not mean to say that photographers who are NOT listed cannot book models of their choice - that would remain, as now, entirely up to the model.
I I believe that because of bad experiences by some models it is important for them to be able to check out the credentials of the photogpraphers - having a list of approved 'togs means the leg-work has been done for them. If photographers object to this then they don't apply to be listed - its simple.
However, as with most other ideas of this nature, it will probably never get off the ground. Makes for interesting discussion though ......

PS - Joe-A, why are you still biased against MH? It is under new ownership and mamangement now.
