I'm losing patience with our current hosting company (Flashhost). So, has anyone got any suggestions for alternative hosting providers? First class performance, reliability, tech support and facilities more important than price.

I have the most amazing guys...

They are on ICQ almost 24/7 and are based in PA. After signing up with them just a week ago, I cannot speak of them highly enough. They also work to individual packages as well as their set hosting plans if it's really needed I think.

I have an unmetred 20mb/s dedicated server at servermatrix.com and another at velcom.com. Both hosts been good to me.

Thank you for all your suggestions - I'll check them out over the course of the coming week. However, I omitted to mention one complication - the database software we are using at the moment is a proprietary program that only runs on Windows servers.

The people I use (www.onyxnet.co.uk)are pretty good,and reside right on the UK Internet backbone.However there are lots of good people in the biz,both here,and abroad.American hosters seem good,and are reasonably priced.All you need to do is ftp them with your content,and they usually have 24/7/365 operations.A good ISP will also provide secure and accurate billing software and access to credit card/banking systems.With the advent of Gambling on the 'net,that side of things has become easier.Billing per byte can,in some circumstances,be more profitable than monthly billing.However the new legal situation in US for images and records might make things difficult,there,until things settle doiwn again.
