Hi

Did anyone watch the programme on the H.I.V outbreak in the states, i see they worked really hard to imagine what the porn industry is really like.
For instance the narrater says porn stars mainly come from troubled backgrounds 'what a tosser' if they spent a bit more time talking to the stars & soaking the info these type of shows might work. Then they go on about gonzo producers giving porn a bad name with their outragous films, this might be the case in the states but not here in the UK & its not really good PR for our British gonzo producers/stars.
Do they research into things for real then set out to tarnish the industry or are they just dick heads hoping to get a break in mainstream tv with their amateur approach into a Pro industry.
Porn the musical after gave a fresh & normal view of the industry for real, thankgod were British.

What surprised me was the difference in terms of gonzo. To me gonzo (at least in this country) is the "amateur" style of filming - one camera, filming as it happens, no sets, no story that sort of thing. Yet in the states it seems that gonzo is the darker side of porn - spitting, slapping, pissing, pain, gagging and the like. I suppose in a country where mainstream porn is the norm, the only way to explore the boundarys is to go to the extreme.

It's such a shame that it's this style of US gonzo that tars the WHOLE of the adult industry with the same brush for those groups that are against the porn industry!

I may be wrong, but I am sure that Sharon Mitchell the founder of AIM got her "Doctor" title from some form of Mail Order University. They didn't mention that!

Mitchell claims to have a PHD in "Sexuality" However the main point is that she is not a "MD" Medical Doctor. Pretty much the same as "Dr" Gillian McKeith the TV dietician, who purchased her Doctorate on-line.

You don't have to be a medical doctor to use the title of 'Dr'. A Phd can be achieved in almost any subject area, the study time is at least three years. The likes of Gillian McKeith and the person mentioned in this thread are obvious frauds and I doubt a doctorate in 'sexuality' even exists.

I thought that 'Porn: The Musical' was great! Totally bizarre, fantastic television. Faye Rampton singing the bukkake song was the highlight, surrounded by those guys in the white masks swaying to the song, odd stuff.
