SOme legal person told me that if its not for financial gain and you are not making it to market it, then its illegal. Is this true?

I'm not a legal type person so I'm only guessing but I would say that if it's done with 2 or more CONSENTING adults then it's their business, no one elses.

In fact, I did hear many moons ago (before h/c porn was legalised??? in the UK) that it was perfectly legal for people to make porn films/video's/photo's etc for their own personal use (i.e. as long as it wasn't dealt with commercially in any way).

As I said though, I'm not a solicitor so I can't state the actual legal position cerncerning this.

No, that's shit - and the person dispensing the advice needs kicking.

Under UK law porn has never been illegal, only the distribution (including giving for free/lending) and import was illegal. You have always been able to make and own as much porn as you like - only exception of course, being if it has minors <16 in it.

Making amateur porn for personal use is in no way illegal. The arguement has no logic to it whatsoever. In what way does shooting porn become a crime if it's not sold to people? I agree with Nachovx, give the guy who told you this a kicking, primarily for being stupid.
