Hello Everyone..

This is my 1st post here and ive read the FaQ and done a searh for similar topics and couldnt find any... So please forgive me if im about to do anything wrong.....

Anyway we are hoping to open a softcore website that will not contain any hardcore or explicit images etc.....

And im not really sure who I should purchase the domain name and webspace from...

Dont want to use my ISP of course.. the domain name wont be anything explicit either.. but is there a cheap host who dont have popup or adverts and wont pull for site for its content..

Prefer it to be UK based for payments etc..

I know sites like cheapdomainnames.net etc only charge about 12quid for 2 years domain rental but will they close the name due to the sites content...

So basically im looking for where i can get a domain name and webspace where the company wont close the site down due to its adult content and wont have popups or adverts..

and yes I ramble on...

Any advice and help would be greatly welcome...

Regards

Charlotte

Charlotte..

Very few UK hosts allow even topless on sites. Also the UK is far more expensive than the States ...

If it's not explicit, you will not make enough money to pay the hosting fees....unless you have Helmut Newton as a photographer... and he's dead.

RGB, that statement is pure and utter rubbish, the softcore market is alive, kicking and thriving. If I listened to people who told me I couldn't sustain a site that did softcore only then I may have given up a few years ago.

I ignored them and now our site is still going, growing week on week and showing that there is a market for soft material.

And to put my comments to Charlottes questions, we use UK Reg for domain registrations and EV1 Servers (www.ev1servers.net) for our servers. They are good, with excellent pricing and loads of bandwidth, downside is you need to manage them yourself as they offer limited tech support.

Cheers

Paul.

Having looked at your site, I admit it is pretty impressive...a lot of content and a high Google PR ranking. It obviously took a lot of work. But I wouldn't encourage a solo model or webmaster with a limited amount of content to believe that they would get a return on investment on purely softcore with the amount of competition that is out there.

RGB...

There is a market for everything porn/adult if you know how to promote it.

I have one particular site that currently holds almost all the positions in the top 10 at Yahoo for the three most popular searches for this site, and none of the terms use the sites name or url, just a few well chosen words, which are genuinely relevant and so are not spamming. Not all the links are to the actual site and those that aren't, are for sites that promote it. Finally on this point as Yahoo is a pay to be listed which I won't do, these listings are from my sites being spidered :)

Lesson # 1 in selling a site whether it's solo model, or a regular site with a mixture... Is SE optimisation... There are other lessons but that would be giving away my secrets, which are all totally legitimate ... LOL

Thx very much everyone for the advice..it is really nice of you all to take the time to answer...

I Also believe the NN market is quite strong, stronger than most think...

The website is not meant to sustain a living or buy a ferrari :-) If it earns me a little extra cash to put towards another horse then thats just a bonus..

I cant really go into any detail regarding the website and its content and im not sure if it will break the rules to advertise it here, but like I said your advice has been appreciated..

Paul L, I would like to contact you concering another matter which is unrelated to my website questions.. actually it concerns yours which you may or may not be aware of... How do I contact you?
