A big pinch of salt. Luke Ford is very well known in porn circles for printing rumours due to him doing no or very little research beforehand. He's been the subject of litigation because of it and has had to apologise on numerous occasions for false stories put out through his website.

My gut instinct is that the lukeford extract is a load of old guff. I've looked at his website and he doesn't strike me as a particularly professional or informed person at all.
From my angle, aids is a nasty, horrible disease, and we should be caring for those people, whoever they are, that are suffering from it. It is the major plague of the porn business and anyone with it, or who is HIV positive has my pity. My first thoughts are with them and their loved ones.
Stirring up racist attitudes shows a real weakness of character and a particularly nasty train of thought. Who cares where it started? Only people who can't focus on the real issue, thats who.
The real issue is that HIV is a real problem in porn, but due to the nature of the business it is a risk (thouh the risk is a definite variable) that comes with doing the job. There are dangers in any job. If anyone knows of a characteristic of a job that stops you dying, tell me first.
There are also no doubt those in porn who are aware they are HIV positive and continue regardless. Not everyone is as nice as you or me. I think that's why it is important to make sure that each individual on a personal level is informed and comfortable with the risks (or lack of) they may be taking.

All I will say on this is to repeat a comment I made on this forum a while ago. Rocco made a mainstream film recently which involved a couple of hard scenes, including ejaculation I believe. He would surely have been tested specifically for this film?

Further to this, I would say that the Luke Ford site consists of a lot of unattributed quotes, presented as fact, taken from supposedly personal emails and also messages that I recognise as being posted in the RAME newsgroup. So - pinch of salt? A little more than that, I think. It all smacks of throwing some shit and seeing what sticks.

ok as someone in the business who has just come back back from filming in the states i feel i just share what i know.
Everyone who has any kind of sexual contact within the industry is tested, in Britain, it is every 3 months maximum, and to my knowledge, hiv is not a big problem within the industry,
in the U.S testing is every 30 days and there tests are more accurate. as far as joey and rocco go if they are working they are tested. as in l.A everyone goes to a clinic called aim, and it is set up entirerly for the sex worker,
Things like this get around quickly and i have heard nothing and as i also worked for, not with so i cant say if i saw a test but joey silvera seems as bizarre as usual and nothing out of ordinary, seemed to be happening.
so lets not go giving any labels out just yet.

Doesn't everyone 'have' herpes, unless they have lived a very sheltered life? Once you've had it, the virus is always lurking somewhere in your body, ready to come out at times of stress. If everyone who had ever had herpes was excluded from the porn business, it would be confined to monks and nuns, and not many of them, either!
