I have over the past 18 months or so been changing my collection from vhs to dvd. Notwithstanding the fact I have chosen only dvd's which appear to be good quality and subjects I prefer, I have to say taking the bunch as a whole, I am disappointed with the content. The films are mainly, although not exclusively, German. Sadly I have to say that the films coming on the market now, simply do not compare with what I consider to be European porns golden period, 1975 to about 1983. I am not saying that all the films are bad, some are quite reasonable, but even the best simply do not compare with the classics of the past. Do others feel this way?

I am definitely NO expert on German or even Euro hard-core films.
Of the few German films that I have seen and filter through, they are sad amateurish productions. Awful acting, bad direction and editing. And I don't even want to discuss the so-call storyline, or even the actresses .
I think they stand out from other Euro and US productions because of their extreme content: pissing, golden showers, fistin (anal/vaginal, scat).
I know I'm going to get flamed, and you are probably going to cite a number of better than average German films, but what they export is just garbage, sorry to say. The box covers really speak for themselves, but once tyoy view the content they are very amateurish productions.

I did not say all German hc stuff is "extreme", but German producers/distributors seem to be interested in only peddling that stuff, and of course it has gotten that reputation (the GGG stuff, the pissing, the fisting, the scat, etc). It is sad, but it is true. No that one would not appreciate seeing some quality stuff, they just don't seem to be interested in exporting it.

To imply that the state of German porn productions is also that of European porn is misleading. Many studios in the EU produce high quality films.
