Hans Billian's 'Familie Immerscharf'

Familie Immerscharf was, as far as I am aware, the last significant work directed by Hans Billian. It was a series of 8 90minute films about an incest obssessed German family. The actresses in the films were very interesting. In the first four films the female cast was, with the notable exception of porno regular Iris, made up of women who I have never seen in other films, All seemed to have acting ability and were mainly attractive. All seemed to have an enthusiasm for the work rarely seen with the more regular adult performers. Does anyone know who the females in these films were? In parts 3 & 4 Billian introduced a very striking looking slim actress with prominent nipples who was very much the star of part 4. She also appeared in one of the spin offs from the series, where she arrived home to find her husband having sex with another woman and got her own back by inviting 14 men to the house and making her husband watch her have sex with them all. Yet I have never seen this actress in anything else. Does anyone know who she is?
Parts 5 to 8 were very different. The female cast were porno regulars, the mother was replaced by an aunt, played by a busty blonde actress who appeared in lots of films including some pissing ones and is sometimes credited under the name Biggi. Jessica Magma appeared in parts 6 & 7 as a maid. Although the last four films were very good they were perhaps not as good as the earlier ones particularly part 4. This leads me to wonder, given the change of style whether Billian actually directed these himself. Unusually for a long series the standard was very good throughout and also unusually part 1 was certainly not the best in the series. Part 4 most certainly was.

Enter 'Familie Immerscharf' in google. Several suppliers have either dvd or vhs versions available. Be careful with part 4, I have seen this for sale and it was not the Billian copy but a Turkish version.

Hi,
the actress in parts 3 and 4 you're talking about was it the bride? The bride was very eloquent and must have had some acting ability (as the mother hat, too). Did she appear in other movies?

Hi Inge, No, the actress was not the bride, it was the one who appears in the first scene in Part 4 with Iris, in a photoshoot where they insert vegetables into themselves.

Incidentally the quite busty blonde who plays the aunt in parts 5-8 is Alexandra Ross. I also misidentified Jessica Magma who does not appear in the series.

Please enlighten me - is this series, parts 1-8, all by Billian? Moreover, isn't the full series just released on DVD (one boxed set or possibly two)? If anyone knows more, i.e. if they're worth getting, how to get them at a good price from a reliable European shop, I would be grateful for the information.

Hi Mulholand, In my opinion this series is most certainly worth getting, but taste vary. Whether the whole series was directed by Billian himself I am not sure. Certainly the first 4 films featured mainly unknown actresses and the last four porno regulars. Unusually for such a long series, the high standard was maintained throughout and oddly No1 was not the best. If you liked Billian's early work you will probably like 'Immerscharf'. The series can be obtained as a two box set of 8 dvds. I got mine from an Austrian distributor 'LustundLiebe' who are very reliable.

Thanks a lot, DavidS. So, despite Billian's complaints in recent interviews of having to shoot an entire feature film in about a day, you do spot some "vintage" qualities, even in these "quickies"?

Yes they were very good and I doubt he shot them in a day. I always thought that the first four with unknowns were better than the last four but, having seen the series again I am not so sure. There are several spin-offs from this series which have not, as far as I am aware, been transferred to dvd. I think VHS copies were issued on the Love label but cannot assist re titles.

Thanks again, David. You have convinced me to try them out.
If you're seeking "late Billian", you just might find one or two obscure VHS tapes at www.tabu.ch, like "3 M?sen auf M?nnerjagd", a title I haven't seen anywhere else.
