This is a german flick sold in america by caballero and it's supposed to be dubbed or subtitled in english. I'm afraid it'll be heavily edited or have other problems. Any thoughts?

It does not seem to have been edited, or have any other apparent problems. However without having the original to compare it with it is impossible to say if anything has been cut out.

The "original" run-time is 71 minutes.

How is the Caballero picture quality? And which shop is the best one these days?

On the Billian subject, there's a UK DVD release of his 1972 film "Das M?dchen mit der hei?en Masche" around the corner. It's soft and stars Sybil Danning. Look for "French Pussycat".

Caballero's picture quality is usually OK and it is in this case. It's their DVD authoring that's often the problem, but I think this one is OK, though since I'd already seen the film I didn't watch every second of the DVD.

Five Star are usually the cheapest and fastest, but not necessarily fastest if the title isn't in stock. But it is in this case -

Thanks a lot. Just ordered it from Five Star (Adult DVD Marketplace is U.S. customers only, right?).

So is the movie worth buying?
I know billians is legendary and I have yet to see any of his hardcore work. But it can be hit or miss with porn flicks.
Thanks for the help, ya'll.

I'd say by his standards it's average, which means that it's still pretty good.
(Worse than "Bienenstich", "Kasimir", "Beichte der J.M.", better than "Intimes Lustgefl?ster", "Im Liebesnest der Hippiem?dchen", "Lustschloss der J.M.")

Of course, tastes vary. But in general, Billian might be one of the best directors of porn of his era. Not only does he come from the "established" side of the craft (he actually has scripts!), he also took the sex both seriously and humorously, often adding some bawdy, spicy elements. His eye for beautiful, charismatic actresses can hardly be overrated.

For years, "Das Haus der geheimen L?ste"/"Secret Passions" has been a little-seen gem (at least in Europe, where it has had comparatively limited VHS distribution). It plays in the same period as the Josefine Mutzenbacher films and has a good story about a bigoted moralist and his immoral family. Full of nice little touches, I'd say it's definitely worth getting. (Although I would prefer a subtitled German-language version as I fear the American-English will feel slightly out of place).
