I've heard rumours that it's available in the Netherlands, possibly under the title "Josefine Mutzenbacher - Deel 6". Can anyone confirm/provide a link?

I own it. The DVD is unfortunately very bad quality and even has a serious error where one scene is suddenly interrupted and continues 15 minutes later or so. The other 6 dvds in the series are much better and a lot cheaper than the Herzog DVDs, if you can find them. Although there are lot's more blemishes etc, part 2 for example even has better colours and sharpness than the Herzog. All have german audio and hardcoded dutch subtitles.

Josefine Mutzenbacher - Wie Sie Wirklich War - Deel 1
Josefine Mutzenbacher - Wie Sie Wirklich War - Deel 2
Josefine Mutzenbacher - Wie Sie Wirklich War - Deel 3
Josefine Mutzenbacher - Wie Sie Wirklich War - Deel 4
Josefine Mutzenbacher - Wie Sie Wirklich War - Deel 5 (this is actually Die Beichte der Josefine Mutzenbacher)
Josefine Mutzenbacher - Aus dem Tagebuch - Deel 6
Josefine Mutzenbacher - Wie Sie Heute W?r - Deel 7 (this is actually part 5)

Thanks a lot, Candela.

As far as the bad quality, would you say that it looks like it's been taken from a VHS copy?

Do you know a website - preferably with credit card options - that sells these films?

It's definitely coming from a VHS, a very bad VHS even. Btw, these dvds are from the same label that released 10 Tirol comedy films including an uncut version of Sechs Schwedinnen auf der Alm. I reviewed another one on 10K Bullets. The quality of these Mutzenbacher DVDs are better than the Tirol ones though, except Tagebuch, unfortunately the only one that isn't on DVD elsewhere. Also I recently have found out the unknown label is Fun Disc Corporation which release (or used to release) cheap porn dvds but I have never seen these Mutzenbacher DVDs on sale in stores. I got them from a local auction site and haven't seen them since. A search on ebay for ended auctions did reveal someone selling them a couple of times. I made some screenshots

As you can see the Dutch DVD has actually a much better picture quality than the Herzog DVD in terms of colour and sharpness but does have a lot more blemishes. Also the Dutch DVD is slightly cut, I found some dialog only scenes missing. The other DVDs look more like part 2, Aus dem Tagebuch is by far the worst quality.

It is most unfortunate that there appears to be no quality copies of this particular film available on dvd. It is, in my opinion, Billian's finest film, and one of the best hardcore films ever made. Hopefully it will eventually be released on dvd by a company with the ability to 'clean up' the picture quality.

It's possibly a case of company rights. Parts 1-5 is Herzog/Gunther Otto, handled by Herzog, and "Der Beichte" is Tabu Films. "Aus dem Tagebuch", on the other hand, is Alois Brummer/AB-Film. I'm not sure if any AB-Film has been put out on DVD yet, at least "properly" (Fun Disc Corporation seems to be bootleggers). It remains for someone to do so. The operations of Herr Brummer seems to have had a very abrupt halt in the early 80s when he died after a robbery in his Teneriffa home. Where the rights lies today is anyone's guess.

Anyway, thanks again, candela, for your detailed and knowledgeable information.

I was told it was for sale on through a shop - just found out it's Bestel-PornoDVD.nl

BTW, are there other Dutch releases of European sex/porn classics around? In the VHS days, Holland used to be important when it came to putting out all sorts of great vintage stuff.

No absolutely nothing, pathetic really. Same thing for old cult/horror movies. I often see people on forums referring to Dutch VHS tapes but on DVD there's nothing to be found except mainstream hollywood crap. And when I do find something interesting it turn out to be suckass VHS transfers put on DVD which can only to be found in shady stores.

What I do find strange about the Tagebuch DVD is that the screenshots on the cover look much better than the actual transfer. You can see the scan of the cover at that store. Thanks for the link btw.

As far as Jean Rollin horror movies are concerned, the dvd picture is really topnotch quality. I have 'L?vres de Sang' featuring B?atrice Harnois, Martine Grimaud, Claudine Beccari, Sylvia Bourdon and the Castel twins. 'La vampire nue' has also been remastered. As for the ones with Brigitte Lahaie, I guess it must be the same. most of them available on priceminister.com.
