Interesting...
How were you monitoring for the attack?
Once you've visited the site they do send you e-mails advising when the site has been updated, so they pick up your e-mail address but many many sites do that, and the info the site sends is OK and useful.
Hmm

spybot warned of an attempt to change my registry settings. then zonealarm gave notice that ginst_001_1234_4201-exe to was trying to access the net. i did a sweep with spybot and found various files had been placed on my system, which i then deleted.

Thanks for the info.
Slightly worrying as I last visited the site on 26 June and yet don't have the ginst_001_1234_4201-exe file on my system (or any others that include ginst) and Zonealarm hasn't notified me of access attempts.
Although I have Spybot it isn't running in the background.
Hmm
I've also received a notification this morning that the site has been updated and copy the contents below although, based on this thread, anyone who visits the site should take note of woodgnome's warning.

BLONDE ON FIRE! The Greta Milos Web Archive
http://www.gretamilos.da.ru -
http://gretamilos.cjb.net
has been updated on July 30, 2004.

Hello guys and girls and welcome back to the Blonde On
Fire newsletter. It's been more than a month since our
last update, so here we go with some brand new stuff
from the site and about our favourite Hungarian
blonde.

WHEN HARRY MEETS GRETA
There's a new clip in the movies section of the site.
It's taken from "Faust Fucker - Faust und Fu?
zugleich", a movie by German director Harry S. Morgan
shot in late Nineties (probably 1998) for Magma video.
This rare scene - 10 minutes long and featuring Greta
with her long time partner Andrew Youngman - shows
Greta as "Eva Hansen" in one of her many appearances
of the time, with a sweet and beautiful look.

TALKING ABOUT HER
There's some stuff going on in the forum as well.
Besides a topic you wouldn't have missed - and we
don't need to tell you what we're talking about -
check out the links to some galleries, fans sites and
reviews. And feel free to give your contribution to
our small community, which is growing day by day.

SUMMER READINGS
Last but not least, among your summer readings you
shouldn't miss an interview to French director
Christoph Clark, who "discovered" Greta back in 1997
when she first appeared in his classic Euro Angels
series. It's published on the Orgazmik site:
http://www.orgazmik.com/report/intervie ... ark_e.html

Have nice holidays and stay cool. Enjoy Greta!

Hi there, I'm the founder and moderator of Blonde On Fire! The Greta Milos Web Archive located at http://gretamilos.cjb.net, http://www.gretamilos.da.ru, http://www.geocities.com/gretamilos
I want to clear out that the fact that connecting to the site affected your pc is completely unintentional. I'm not an expert but I guess the cause is the cjb.net redirect - when I connect to it using that url, a popup windows opens, but anything else happens. We use the redirect urls to hide the real server hosting the site - and to give it a more "official" feel, since I don't want to pay for a real domain. So please don't think of it as a spam site or anything - we're just Greta true believers! Sorry for causing you troubles, anyway.

"Once you've visited the site they do send you e-mails advising when the site has been updated, so they pick up your e-mail address "

Not exatcly correct, I should add. I just send emails to people asking for it, or to people who are clearly Greta's fans, when I found them in forums/discussion boards etc. And if someone tells me he doesn't want to be reached via email (which never happened, by the way), I'll stop it. I don't even know how to track down visits to the site.

So if people link to the site without using the 'cjb' link the file attack that woodgnome mentioned shouldn't happen??
If so it maybe best using the link.
