Charlie Brown seems to have been the founder of and motor behind TABU, at least during its 1970's heyday of loop productions. Does anyone know more about him? Is he still around?

Hello mulholand!

I have an article of 1986.
He could be on a photo of 1986 about 60 years oldly.
He is spoken about as an "at that time legendary Charlie Brown".
I think he is dead.
He has founded TABU 1969.

This was the beginning in west Germany.
The import of porns from the foreign countries was forbidden from tax law and right to levy tolls.
Charlie Brown founded 1969 the company TABU.
He bought films these were produced in Germany.
It was super 8 technology.

There was profit if 1000 films were sold.
TABU sold 2500 per film.
Also to the USA, with Norm 8 technology.

1975 the pornography got legal in West-Germany.
Film projectors became a hit in the sale.
Super 8 films were shown in private Clubs.

There suddenly were "PAM-Kinos" in every town.
Films were shown in the 35 mm format here.

Super 8 and 35 mm produced you in this time simultaneously.

The company TABU is:
Love / Diamant / Chroma / Sextime / Starlight / Mega

Thanks, Herschi,

You seem to know more about him than the people running the TABU website these days - who refer to him as "Charly" Brown. (No fine culture left the porn business anymore. Good grief!)
