I noticed on a web site recently, I forgot to take its details, that Sepp Gneissl is being promoted as the European Ron Jeremy. I have to say the similarity, apart from some resemblance in height and build, eludes me. As far as I am aware, and I am sure a German expert will correct me if I am wrong, Gneissl had a long career in softcore and comedy before going into hardcore about 1975. He took to hardcore like a duck to water but retained his acting and comedy ability. In my opinion he was the finest hardcore actor of all time. The last film I saw him in was 'Aus dem Tagebuch der Josefine Mutzenbacher' in 1981. He had the good sense to retire from hardcore before he passed his 'sell by date'. I don't think any of this can be said about Jeremy. Anyone disagree?

I have heard that "Ron Jeremy" tag before, and I think it is merely referring to (i) slight physical similarities, and (ii) their ubiquity in porn of a certain period.

Gneissl had an acting background, and I think he went back to that after porn. Ron kept going, but I think Ron also had some kind of acting background before he went to porn.

I vaguely remember reading somewhere that Ron Jeremy was a teacher.
