MPs

Post by Dick Moby »

Just had an MP at my door and he often had comments in the local newspaper Going by his newspaper articles I thought he was an arsehole but in person he seemed a genuine guy. I suppose that's the mark of a good politician --- get the voter to think he's telling the truth.

I had a chat with a Labour Minister once.

The bloke said he was a bit busy but write to me.

My reply was there would be little point in doing that because you won't reply, even if you see the letter which I suspect you won't.

He promised that he would.

Guess what happened...

Thankfully I wasn't naive enough to take the prick for his word !drink!

I've met Alex Salmond a couple of times and I also sent him a letter (ah the good old days) about a problem my father had. He got it sorted pretty quickly. I don't necessarily agree with his politics but he got the job done for my dad.

Don't think my labour MP has ever been here, I think he refers to his constituancy as "that place up north somewhere" seeing as he lives 150 miles away.

It's a nice safe seat though, he doesn't need to do any work in a "we always vote Labour" town. People round here would vote for Jimmy Savile if they dug him up and stuck a red rosette on him.

We have need of you again, great king.

I doubt they would vote for Jimmy Savile ? he wasn't a Tory and he wasn't "best buddies" with Thatcher. Jut because someone says something doesn't make it true...

Really? According to the Telegraph, not the most left-leaning of newspapers

"The hospital that got the most help from him was Stoke Mandeville in Buckinghamshire, where he supported the spinal injuries unit. The hospital is only three miles from the Prime Minister?s official residence, Chequers, and Savile became a friend of Margaret Thatcher ? spending New Year?s Eve with her for 11 years in a row."

and re. his knighthood

Okay maybe not "best buddies" possibly but friends all the same.

Yes as I said that because someone says something doesn't make it true:

Yes, I didn't say that they were not friends. I'm disputing the "best buddies" tag.
