"on climate change..something that doesn't even exist"
You are a real renaissance man, Argie. Now you appear to know a lot more than the overwhelming number of scientists working in the area.
"Fuck me Eddie Millibland must be in dire straits....John Prescott"
Well, you would be screaming and whining if Miliband had brought in someone who had done PPE at Oxbridge. Make your mind up!!

Climate change doesn't exist?
There is no argument on this, Arg. You denying the last ice age then I suppose?
As for Prescott....its the best move Milliband has done in a long time. He's a working class unionist at heart and pretty likeable imho. Labour need more like him.

I wouldn't say Prescott 'worked his way up from humble beginnings'. My view has always been that he got to become Deputy Prime Minister for two reasons:
first, it was a kind of 'long service medal' for having been on the Labour front bench so long and working for so many years, and failing, to get them elected - when they did get elected in 1997 he was given that senior job as so few people had spent as long as him on the front bench and working as much to get them into office and for so long;
and second, he was given the job of Deputy Prime Minister in order to appease the Left of the party, the 'old guard', who otherwise would have felt they were not being represented at the top as Tony Blair was now leader and he had a centre-right agenda.
Prescott may have gone from being a waiter on a cruise ship to being the second most powerful person in the land, but it is for the reasons I've just given that he ended up there. Few people 'work their way up' in politics, they progress for a reason, or reasons, usually to do with the party or a senior figure in the party repaying their loyalty or because it can benefit the party in a political context.
John Major, for example, was from humble beginnings - he was on the dole as a young man and is the only PM we've ever had who's ever been on the dole. However he owed his entire career to Margaret Thatcher, she promoted him very rapidly and lined him up to be her successor. This likely wouldn't have happened had there been others around who she thought had the potential to be the next leader and who had the same agenda as her. It is for party reasons, and often loyalty-payback, that people get on - rarely because someone 'worked their way up' like someone who works in a bank or an insurance company might.

Thank you EL. Of course the weather changes but the myth that we affect it is pure scare mongering. China and India produce most of the planet's noxious fumes but in truth they are still developing nations. If Al Gore and his tree shagging lefties were around in the 18th Century they would have protested against the Industrial Revolution.
And as an aside my Labour Councillor colleague and her cohorts think bringing 2 Jags back is a retro step. He was part of Bliar's crew and they are no longer trusted. Apart from by their CIA paymasters.

Did you ever try out that little experiment with the pop bottles, Essex Lad. Let Arg know the results will ya? Haha.

Sam, I'm guessing that your experiment is to climate change what managing your household budget is to the national economy.
