Preston v. Man Utd

Watched this game on the Beeb last night. A few comments:
1. Preston played well.
2. Man Utd were crap in the first half.
3 Utd were better in the second but the first goal Rooney was in the line of sight of the PNE goalkeeper. The second goal, Fellaini pushed a defender out of the way to get his header in. The third goal, Rooney dived when he could easily have just jumped over the goalkeeper.
4. As in other games, Utd. seem terrified to play football until they go behind.
Had to laugh with Sam Allardyce's comments after the 1-1 draw between West Ham and Utd. "At the end of the day, we couldn't cope with Utd's long ball game" !wink! What was hilarious was that den Gaal took Sam's bait and produced a 4 page dossier which mainly stated that although, yes, Utd played far more long balls in the game than West Ham, however Allardyce was being really unfair because more than half of Utds long balls were from one side of the field to the other!.. Jeez and that is supposed to be better?
Am I being too harsh on Utd?. I know they are third in the League but given den Gaal has spent about a ?100 million more on transfers than Moyes, the team seem to be going backwards in terms of playing uptempo, attacking football for any length of time.
