Labour Party all female lists

I live in Carlisle where the Labour party chose an ex shopgirl from an all female list. She has no formal education to speak of an probalby thinks Boko Haram is an Arsenal defender....The current leader of the Labour Party in Carlisle is a highly experienced manager, very well educated, with many years of political experience and a shedload of common sense. Now they have done the same in the safeish seat of Workington. In both cases the local parties were ignored.
How can a party that wanks on about inequality blank out half the population?

Make ya bloody mind up.

If they had selected an Oxbridge graduate, public school educated you would be whining on about how the Labour Party were no more the party of the working man

Have you met her then?? How do you know she is unintelligent. Trust me they wouldn't let her anywhere neat the house of commons if she was clueless and couldn't communicate with people. There is a huge vetting process involved in this.

'...probalby (sic) thinks Boko Haram is an Arsenal defender...'

Isnt that more the level of world knowledge required of a Ukip candidate?

As a matter of fact our paths cross through work. She is so far off being MP material as to be dangerous. If she is elected, and I don't think she will be, our City will be invisible in Parliament. She is invisible to her Council ward and currently being "groomed" by Labour's PR machine..her accent is subtly changing and she is being given a style makeover....worrying for someone who could end up on a committee tasked with defending the realm or challenging a crooked banker.

That simply isn't true.

Ed Miliband can't communicate with ordinary people. Emily Thornberry also seems to have difficulty not taking the piss, to name but two.

If the memoirs of former MPs are anything to go by. Gyles Brandreth talks about his difficulty in finding a seat because the safe seats go to the no-hopers.

No doubt the usual fuckwits will jump to defend a policy that the Party themselves can't even support.

If the fuckwits truly believed in the bollocks then the Champaign Socialist would be the Great Leader.

The fuckwits representatives would have also selected candidates with tits for all the constituencies that have become available since 2010.

The fuckwits representatives would also have appointed someone with a fanny and not a white, American, male to run their election campaign.

The fuckwits representatives would have also appointed a supreme being to reflect their fight to end inequality to be the Shadow Solicitor General.

Gloria De Perio is the minister for Women & Equality. That the role itself can even exist sums up the fuckwits and their representatives.

I agree which is part of the problem with her and the fuckwits lunacy.

She should be seen as an MP who just happens to be an attractive lady.

The way the fuckwits are going their MPs will be just seen as being there because of their gash or, at best, being there because they are the best of those with a gash who were selected.

Ironic how the party that claims to be so totally opposed to discrimination actually discriminates against half of the population in selecting its candidates for half of its target seats.

In my book discrimination is discrimination, no matter how you try to justify it and dress it up as something "positive".

I've never understood the obsession with 'quotas' anyway.

Why is it necessarily "better" to have a parliament that's 50% male and 50% female than one that's, say, 65% male and 35% female when - in the case of the former - a proportion of the female MPs are inevitably going to be lower-calibre candidates that would not have made the grade in an open selection contest, but were parachuted into safe seats thanks to all-women shortlists?

Surely it should be about selecting the best and most able candidate for a seat, regardless of skin colour or genital alignment?

If it's wrong for an able female candidate to be denied an opportunity by a less capable man, why is it apparently more acceptable for a capable man to be denied an opportunity by a second-rate female candidate who's only been selected thanks to the existance of an "AWS".

Also worth noting that quite a few constituency Labour parties have been opposed to having an AWS imposed on them, but have been quite arrogantly overruled by Labour's NEC in pursuit of this dogma.
