James Corden. Bowel Cancer is funnier.
Joan Collins. Can't act.
Esther Rantzen. I knew about Savile and said nothing to preserve my career.
Time the whole system was wiped out.

Corden, a professional Smug Cunt - was'nt he great as Smiffy in Gavin & Stacey though? Russell Brand cruelly overlooked in this year's honours it seems.

The whole system is outdated and the nomination process is equally antiquated. Locally the people who get nominated tend to be professional do gooders who brown nose the Church of England or "work" in local government.

I would love the see the list of people who refused honours...I believe a rather gorgeous and pert bosomed female writer and cook knocked an honour back recently..

Surely not Nigella?

Not with her substance abuse issues?

Pert bosomed! Saggy tits more like.

Here's a list. There's a PDF file embedded in the body of the web page listing the names.

According to the Daily Mail, Nigella turned down a OBE IN 2001.

Why is the list always made up of actors/actresses and so called celebs they get paid well for what they do, i know people who have done volunteer work for charities for over 30 years but they seldom get recognition nor would they seek it, but it would be nice to see more of them get an award. !rant!

"volunteer work for charities for over 30 years"

You get a BEM (British Empire Medal) for that if you are lucky.

Anything above that is reserved for ex high ranking civil servants and "entertainers" (like Sir Jimmy Savile etc).

"British Empire", what century are these people living in?

I also do volunteer work for various charities but not as long as a lot of people have done, no one does it for for recognition, i have been in Hyde Park on a Sunday morning before it's even gets daylight on several occasions unloading trucks and putting up marquees for Cancer Research Race for Life, you then go on to help marshall the event and then once the races are over and everyones gone there is the clearing up and taking everything down, there are people there who are in there 80s and have been doing this for years.

I think it's about time that they stop giving these awards to the luvvies but gave them to some of the lovely people i have met on my journey through life..

Don't worry when I run the country.
Tammie Lee will get an MBE for contribution to film (Scene in Anal Away Days
in Guildford).
And what about Dame Danica Collins.
For contribution to tissue sales.
