After the success of my Comedian post I shall now go for another subject that polarises opinion. Who are you fave and least fave singers and actors / actresses....?

Fave singers. Sinatra, Darin, Plant, Gillan, Mercury, Springfield, Gabriel, Nicks, Jones (Tom), Dio, Sam Brown, Elvis, Henley, Seger...many more but they stick out..

Hated singers....Marvin Gaye, Aretha, Tony Bennett, Annie Lennox, Cleo Laine, Carol Kydd, Lead singer of Kings of Leon,

Actors...Jacobi, Bob Peck, John Thaw, De Niro, Pacino, Uma Thurmann, Gillian Anderson, Helen Mirren.

Can't act for Toffee.....Keira Knightly, Angelina Jolie, Bradd Pitt, Katherine Hepburn, Julie Walters, Daniel Craig,

How can you hate Tony Bennett??? He has an amazing voice!!!

Fave singers-jonie mitchell, tony bennett, ella fitzgerald,jimmy durante, karen carpenter, matt monroe

Hated singers-lennox. robbie williams, elton john, ronan keating

Fave actors-peter mullan,jim broadbent,pacino, phil davies, ricky tomlinson, dustin hoffman

Crap actors-stallone,shwarzennegger,pauline quirke,clint eastwood,michael caine(great films but rubbish actor), david bowie

Fave singers Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Plant, Tom Waits, Tom Jones, Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, June Tabor, Kate Rusby, Nick Cave, Lou Reed

Fave actors - Meryl Streep, Al Pacino, Timothy Spall, Philip Seymour Hoffmann, Maxine Peake, Eddy Redmayne

I don't really have that much dislike, nor go overboard when it comes to singers and actors.

It's really hard to separate the singer from the songs they sing. For instance, I'd pick Plant, Rodgers, Winwood & Mercury as singers I like.......but they sings songs I like. If they sang 80s hair metal shite I might think differently.

Actors I like are Hoffman, Hopkins, Pacino, Spacey and for a bit of fun, Peter Sellers.

Dislike Sutherland, Crowe, Clooney, Gibson, Willis (person with him!), Stallone........basically, most 'action' hero actors.

Having recently been to his birthplace, Clarkesdale, Mississippi, I have to say the magnificent Sam Cooke. And of course Curtis Mayfield and lets not forget Richie Havens. And Sam and Dave and Al Green and I am quite partial to Howling Wolf. And Muddy Waters, also from Clarkesdale. More up to date Paul Carrack rather does it for me.
No time for those I dont like.

Paul Carrack has a great voice and soooo versatile.

probably too many to mention good or bad, plus a lot of it is subjective anyway.

I will say this however, my go-to guy for crap acting is Clive Owen.

Ray Winstone is also very one-dimensional (even when he' playing an ancient barbarian he's all 'knees up muvva braahn gor blimey stone the crows guvn'r') and he went right down in my estimations when he started doing those betting adverts, although that admittedly has nothing to do with his acting.

And both Sophia Loren and Keira Knightley are (let's face it) pretty rubbish actresses who only got as famous as they did because of their beauty.

Actors/actresses I like: Judi Dench, Bob Hoskins, Connery, Pacino, DeNiro, Christopher Walken. Benedict Cumberbach is also decent from what I've seen of him, but that said the fucker seems to be everywhere you turn these days and he's starting to bore me now.

one singer who I really can't stand is Mariah Carey. She annoys me intensely and when she goes into that whistle register it makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up (but not in a good way). And I'm none too keen on diva type female singers generally. Annie Lennox I just find robotic and soulless. I can't be doing with Bono either.

Singers I like include Dio, Mercury, Alex Ligertwood (ex Santana), Loreena McKennitt, Phil Mogg, Phil Lynott and Biff from Saxon. I also quite like Madonna but I only listen to her '90s stuff now, and Karen Carpenter without a doubt had a phenomenal voice, I just didn't like most of their stuff.

Yes.....Muddy Waters and Howlin Wolf....not the best singers but lots of character in their voices. Lover them.

Skip James too has a very haunting, ghostly voice.....not to everyone's tastes, mind.

Rick Astley was probably the worst singer I ever heard, it makes me wonder how he became successful. A lot of 'singers' though don't even sing. They mumble and the voice you hear at the concert bears little resemblance to theirs. Britney Spears is a good (or rather bad) example:

Hated: Ronan Keating, Chris Martin, Mariah Carey
