In a post yesterday I stated that I thought Sam was a lapsed Muslim. This
was based on my recall of a post he had made years ago on this forum about being brought up in the Muslim community.

I asked Sam to clarify that my recall was correct. In the absence of that clarification I tried to find the post that I remembered.

After quite of bit of searching I came across the following post from 2008.



In this post Sam states "Lived in the middle of a Muslim community since 1983. Went to schools that were 60-80% Muslim. I've fasted to support my Muslim friends as a kid and been to numerous Muslim weddings and Ede parties. I know enough. I know that the Quran and Hadith a little and learnt a little Arabic as a kid (as well as a little Urdu)."

In it, Sam gives the impression that he is a non-Muslim in a Muslim community.

In other words, my memory let me down.

I want to apologise to Sam for getting it wrong. Sorry!

Of all the things for David to apologise to me over...

1. Imply I don't care about Liverpool supporters dying at Hillsborough = deeply offensive.

2. Imply I'm a closet EDL nutjob = offensive.

3. Imply I'm a lapsed Muslim = kinda funny.

He choose the least offensive one to apologise to me.

Still......it's a start. Apology accepted.

Deeply, deeply offensive to suggest that I don't care about Syrian deaths and regard it as entertainment with popcorn.

Obviously I didn't but I did state that people who go around saying they "hate Islam" and "Islam is evil" include the EDL. That is not the same as saying you are part of the EDL. You can share one view of an organisation without being a member of that organisation.

What you did call me was "disingenous, a liar, slimy, slimeball etc etc. and various versions thereof, non-stop for 2 months
