He went over there to help, that's the sad thing. And they knew that too, which is the disgusting thing.

All this crap about a 'chip' in his passport made them suspicious is an excuse for killing him. They have British Muslims over there with the exact same chips in their passports.

First of all we are in for a long struggle with these fundamentalists. Secondly,
it will get bloodier, a lot bloodier. Thirdly, to defeat them requires a power of
will - a real desire to succeed at any cost - without giving way to so-called
rules of war or Western PC values. Fundamentalist warriors do not appreciate
them nor act by the moral values that traditionally represent Western culture.
Put simply - we need to destroy them without mercy root and branch. The
only mercy an ISIS fanatic knows might - I repeat "might" be given to
someone who can prove he is a Muslim and ideally a follower of the Wahhabi
creed, otherwise they view everyone on earth as apostates before Allah and
worthy only of death or to be treated as slaves. You cannot reason with
them in any accepted sense we Westerners understand !
This is not the first time a global jihad has been declared against the West.
The Mahdi in the 19th century Sudan, a man who at least was not a
Wahhabi, though dangerous, declared his ansar would exterminate the
forces of Europe until the American President and the British Queen became
Muslims. In scores of battles, such as Shaykan (1883) and El Teb (1884) his
troops massacred whole armies, with beheadings galore, including a British
general at Khartoum.
That struggle lasted 15 years and countless lives until 1898 when, at
Omdurman, and finally at Umm-Dibaykarat, we wiped them out without
mercy killing 10-12,000 in concentrated maxim and rifle fire. We imposed
a British-run governance of the region and any hint of rebellion for the next
20 years was ruthlessly suppressed until finally Mahdiism died.
History repeats itself continually. Now we must take up arms against
these people who, with sophisticated technology and modern weapons,
mean to kill you and me or destroy our Society and its ways. There is no
middle course. They must be obliterated without mercy. You may dislike
all this as much as me, you may worry for young people mislead into
"freedom fighting", but harden yourself. War is an ugly business. To think
we can play games with these people or "reform them" is nonsense.

I don't think fighting ISIS on the battlefield will work on it's own. It is needed, of course, but that on it's own will just look like the west bullying Muslims again.

What needs to be done is to fight them at a philosophical level too. Encourage liberal Muslims to stand up and help reform their religion without fear of them themselves being labelled blasphemers and apostates (which most currently are accused of). This is why I think it is important to criticise the religion and the western liberals who have this 'defend Islam at all costs' mentality do not help progress at all. For them it's about looking good, not helping Muslims help themselves.

"I don't think fighting ISIS on the battlefield will work on it's own."

Why not? Worked against Hitler. Besides, weren't you the one wholeheartedly in favour of the battlefield approach in terms of the illegal war in Iraq, the invasion of Afghanistan and the bombing of Libya? I seem to recall you were also very keen on the idea of bombing the Syrians to fuck.

"Encourage liberal Muslims to stand up and help reform their religion without fear of them themselves being labelled blasphemers and apostates (which most currently are accused of). "

Well given the hundreds of imams and Islamic religious scholars who condemned the imprisonment and threatened death of Alan Henning, the ISIS "interpretation" of Islam seems very much in the minority.

This is a horrific, unforgivable, disgusting, vile crime. I agree with you.

Did I miss your condemnations of the hundreds of thousands of innocent Iraqis who were killed either directly or indirectly as a result of an illegal war?

Are they not worthy in some way of your condemnation of their kilers?

As usual.......David wants to make the beheading of an innocent man about me.

It's always about me.

Poor sod.

But you can't answer my points, can you?

And as you can see, David would rather bomb bomb bomb if it meant no criticism of Islam.

A true believer or someone just wanting to look good?
